2016 NFL Mock Drafts

With the draft approaching, I thought it would be nice to have a thread for all the various mock drafts we find. Please post your findings here. This one to start it off. The Big Sky Conference is well represented. Tyrone Holmes getting a little dissed in being behind some other conference players. I am being dissed, if he lands where they are projecting them. I will hate rooting against him, but I do not root for the team he is projected to go to, unless they are playing the Cowboys. :thumb:

I don't see how this is directly related to you mtgrizrule. How are they disrespecting you, you personally?

Inside humor there. I a Philadelphia Eagles fan. They project him to division rival, NY Giants. :thumb:

What are the Eagles trying to do?

The quarterback position causes NFL teams to do some peculiar things. We saw it last week when the Rams traded away their future for the right to take the top passer from a pretty underwhelming class. Now the Eagles have traded away a bunch of valuable picks to get the consolation prize.
Philadelphia gave up a first-, second- and third-round pick to move up only six spots. And you have to assume that move is for a quarterback. Teams don’t give up that much to take a lineman. And that’s what makes this deal so bizarre from the Eagles’ standpoint. The team just committed $56 million over the next three years to the quarterback position after re-signing Sam Bradford and signing Chase Daniel to back him up.

I saw this one either yesterday or day before, but had no idea how to post crap! That and the Giants are my least favorite team, so didn't want to look up how to post it either! Hahaha. I also noticed the big sky represent in there. I also noticed a few picks later was the NDSU super lineman.

Your guess is as good as mine. They obviously believe in Wentz or Goff. I am taking a stab here. I think they are covering their ass, just in case Bradford continues to disappoint or get injured. If he shows well, he becomes very marketable to trade after this season. If he struggles or continues to get injured, the Eagles can part ways with him next spring before his contract money is guaranteed. The NFL system works well for both teams and players. I see the Eagles looking at Bradford's new contract as a 1 year deal.

On the bright side, if the Eagles do draft Wentz, I know Alpha will be pulling for Wentz to do well. :thumb:
The Eagles will look like geniuses with as high as Alpha is on Wentz. :)

It all depends on how the QB they end up with pans out, but I think the Eagles gave up an awful lot in this trade. Definitely taking a risk here, especially when you already spent a lot of money on QBs. Good trade for the Browns. They have had awful luck in drafting QBs. I've always liked the strategy of loading up on picks and building your team that way. QBs are the most valuable players, but they can also set your team back for years if they bust.

Here's BR's profile on Holmes. They tab him as a 5th rounder and an NFL backup. It's a lengthy summary giving pros and cons and in typical BR fashion, they contradict each other. I figured I'd add it anyway.

His speed is up to par, and he shows the ability to catch the ball on backside plays.
He's a clunky runner who too often shows heavy feet.
He's always working to release from blockers and has enough shake in his shoulders and hips to create doubt in the mind of a tackle.
A square runner, Holmes plays high and without flexibility in his hips and core.
Oh well, at least they tried. They do rank him the 13th best edge rusher in the draft.
