2016 Griz Football Signing Day Social - Kalispell

The Flathead Chapter of the Grizzly Scholarship Association is excited to announce the 2016 Griz Football Signing Day Social which will take place in Kalispell on Wednesday, February 3, in Kalispell.

The event, which introduces the Class of 2016 and welcomes back second-year head coach Bob Stitt, will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.; admission is $10. Light appetizers will be provided. There will be a no-host bar.

UM Director of Athletics Kent Haslam, Stitt and the team's assistant coaches will be on hand. Don't miss this chance to see video highlights of the future of Griz football and hear from some of UM's leaders.

Why not in Missoula, also? This is the home of the fan base. I loved Bobby's introduction of the new players. Coach S. could win lots of friends with a Missoula presentation and welcoming.

Charge fans 15.00-20.00, find a solid ballroom in town, have a bar, and hord'erves (spelling) and allow Griz fans to enjoy a little celebration.

It is February and we need a little fun.

Maybe because the Sliters live in Kalispell and fund the majority of the event. If you want an event in Missoula, throw down your nickels and make it happen. That's my two cents (see what I did there ;))
 
In the past the UM coaches had a meeting in Missoula around noon and then traveled to Kalispell for a 5 o'clock get together...
 
I suppose this is the appropriate place to add that the Sunset Beach Chapter will also host a 2016 Signing Day Social in my garage on February 3. I can attest that the entire SB Chapter regrets to be unable to attend the Flathead Social, but we will turn out in a number to raise the flag down here. There will be no admission fee, and the beers will be free from the kegerator.

I remember, when I lived in Missoula (which I did from 1995 to 2005), going to the evening signing day social at Ruby's motel and convention center.

Let's just say I got housed, slept in the laundry room and ate the free buffet breakfast in the morning. Oh wait, that was Griz/cat 1989. But none-the-less, Ruby, she's a fine dame.

They held the event at the Doubletree/Edgewater for years, then switched to Ruby's. It was always well attended. I have no clue why they would switch to Kalispell, where the turnout was good, but not like Missoula. I do feel the Missoula event had a better vibe. Glenn did a small show in Polson (and several other small cities) for his first class in addition to Missoula event. RP did a visit at Lake Bar in Polson (standing room only) on the way to Kalispell show for his first recruiting class. Maybe it's an RE thing. I live in Polson, so no big deal to me
 
This has been the new norm on signing day:

11am Quarterback Club Luncheon - High atop WA GRIZ
1pm Press Conference (broadcast on the internet)- High atop WA GRIZ

Evening Grizzly signing day social up in Kalispell put on by the that chapter GSA.
