I know this has already been talked about some but I'm gonna go a little deeper in depth. I did this last year so I'm gonna do it again this year. With the Big Sky's uneven schedule, it's interesting to see who's schedule is weaker then the others and then it's interesting to see how each team's schedule plays out. Last year it was well advertised that Southern Utah had one of the easiest schedules and they made the most of it winning the conference. On the flip side, Eastern Washington, Cal Poly, and Idaho State had the tuffest schedules and they were not able to overcome, finishing 6th, 10th, and 12th. It's also interesting to see teams like Portland State, Montana, North Dakota, and Northern Arizona overcome their tuff schedule's and finish in the top four in the BSC(NAU and UND were tied for forth). Now another year and there's new teams with challenges to overcome and new teams with easy roads to a potential conference championship.
Here's a quick recap of last year. The teams are ordered in their strength of schedule point rankings with their 2015 records and where they finished in the con.
Cal Poly 37(18) 3-5, 4-7 10th
EWU 37(18) 5-3, 6-5 t6th
ISU 35(20) 1-7, 2-9 12th
PSU 32(22) 6-2, 9-3 2nd
UM 32(18) 6-2, 8-5 3rd
UND 31(19) 5-3, 7-4 t4th
NAU 31(18) 5-3, 7-4 t4th
WSU 30(18) 5-3, 6-5 t6th
Sac St 28(20) 1-7, 2-9 t12th
MSU 25(19) 3-5, 5-6 9th
UCD 25(14) 2-6, 2-9 11th
SUU 24(14) 7-1, 8-4 1st
UNC 16(13) 3-5, 6-5 8th
Once again I grouped the Big Sky into 4 tiers based off the polls and what little knowledge I have of the teams. Feel free to critique exept all the naysayers that don't think the Griz are a tier 1 team.

Tuff road con games against NAU, MSU, Cal Po, and PSU plus UM at home. Maybe the hardest non-con sched in the FCS also with nationally ranknked #1 and #4 MVC teams plus a PAC12 team. Nine defenders return from a bad defense(117th in the FCS). Also only 4 offensive starters return(not counting the QB) but they do have arguably the best WR in the history of the FCS.

The road con games at UND, WSU, and MSU and maybe the tuffest home con sched with UM, EWU, SUU, and ISU all traveling to the mountains of Arizona. Throw in a road trip to nationally ranked WIU and the usual Ari St game should make an interesting year for the BSC favorites. FrOtY Cookus, two standout WR's, and two preseason all BSC OL will make this O go. The D will be tested though w/ only 5 returning starters from an underachieving squad from last year, especially the secondary w/ only 1 veteran in the pass heavy BSC.

On the road at UND, PSU, and WSU with UM and EWU at home. A tuff road MVC matchup with SDSU along with a road trip to Nev which could be a winnable game. An experienced QB returning to the starting line up after redshirting along with six other returning starters will run the O of the three time rushing leaders of the FCS. 6 starters return for an awful D that gave up a lot of yards and points last year.

Tuff road con games at EWU, PSU, and CP plus NAU, UND, and UM at home. Except for a sure loss at FBS Col St, a relatively easy non-con sched. 10 returning on O including 8 that were So's and Fr last year will help build mo for the next couple of years. The D on the other hand returns 7 but lost both safeties and was ranked 110th in the FCS against the run last year. A new DC was brought in so improvement is expected.

Tuff road con games are WSU and SUU plus CP and EWU at home. Probably the easiest con sched. Two FBS games including #11 Wash to add a little credibility but not enough especially if they win the con. They return 7 starters on O including their dangerous dual threat QB but have to replace 7 in D but having their playmaking CB back will help. Last year they had one of the tuffest scheduels and almost won the con. This year with the easiest con sched, expectations should be high.

MSU is their tuffest road con game while they have CP, SUU, WSU, and NAU at home. A relatively easy non-con sched also with a trip to FBS Bowling Green padding their SOC score. 7 starters return on O including their explosive all purpose So RB. The 4 replacements on the offensive side all come from the O line though. 9 starters return on a very stout D that will be replacing its top tackler but have the talent to do so.

Tuff road games at EWU, SUU, Cal Po and MSU plus PSU at home. Also two FBS games including nationally ranked Oregon fill out the sched. A lot of returning starters though w/ 10 offensive and 8 defensive w/ the D line taking the biggest hit after giving up 200+ yards a game on the ground last year.

Tuff con road games at WSU, SUU, and of course the Brawl in Missoula. UND, EWU, and NAU all travel to Bozeman and maybe the easiest non-con sched including a trip to still FBS Idaho. Only 4 starters return on a redesigned offense but 8 starters return on D with a new DC(can't remember his name at the moment) that need to make improvements from last year.

Very tuff road games and easy home games. At UNI, NAU, and EWU will be our biggest challenges. SUU will be the tuffest home game. Returning Gus and essentially 5 starting lineman (2 C's) will help a retooling D with a lot of unproven talent.

Tuff road con games at SUU and UND plus PSU, MSU, NAU, and CP at home. A tuff non-con road game at SDSU will test them early plus FBS foe and in state rival USU may be a winnable game if WSU is legit and comes to play. 9 starters return on O including 2 preseason BSC O lineman. The BSC's top ranked D from 2015 returns 7 starters and some question marks in the middle.

Their only tuff road con game is UM. Home con games include MSU, UND, CP, and PSU. They also play at WSU in a non-con matchup plus FBS Fresno St. A bunch of new asst coaches were brought in including Paul Wulff to coach up the O line. They return 8 starters on O including their So QB and Sr RB. 10 starters return on D including 8 of top 10 tacklers from last year.
