I reacted the same way Northendzonedan did until I looked at Chalich's credentials. Then became very excited about him coming here.
He will make believers out of those which doubt him. He's going to be a good one.

Judging by your username, I'm guessing you are familiar with some Idaho high school football? Have you seen much of Chalich and Simis, what's your take on the two of them? I'm guessing this is who the battle for starter will come down to.

Like Postfalls, I see a lot of Idaho football. I think Chalich is the better athlete and has more tools (quicker better arm vertically), but I got to see a lot of Simis and I think he might be the better quarterback. Just my gut. I think Simis has this intangible thing that I can't put a finger on.

I believe the QB battle likely comes down to Chalich and Simis.

I think aside from Taysom Hill, these are the two best Idaho quarterbacks in the past few years.

Idaho has some appeal. Look at the excitement on egriz about Chalich transferring to Montana. Would anyone be that excited if he was transferring from NAU or Cal Poly? Just to name two teams that are better than the Vandals.

Just because Idaho as a team sucks, it does not mean that every player does.
Literally and technically that may be true. However, it is also true that the vast majority of the Idaho players suck and couldnt start here. I see no need to get excited about anyone from arguably one of the worst programs in the country.

You do realize that the Griz and Vandals recruit many of the same kids every year....#dumas
how many games did Idaho win last year.. hmmm... lets take a stroll down memory lane. Last year the vandals were an impressive 1-10. That was probably just a fluke because of their winning ways with all that superior talent, oh wait, 2013 they went 1-11. Surely 2012 must have been better? oh snap, the vandals went 1-11 again. oh noes, 2-11 in 2011. can you add up all those wins? got enough fingers and toes to add them all up? let me help you out there little guy, thats a team that sucks. period.

Once again...not every player on a bad team is bad and not every player on a good team is good...not sure why that is so difficult. I also know for a fact that the Griz recruited Chalich coming out of high school, and they must still see something in him...unless you think they like adding kids that suck...Not sure that I ever stated that Idaho is not a dumpster fire for a football program. And your little tantrum still did nothing to contradict my statement that both programs recruit many of the same kids out of high school...#dumas

Yeah, I know, nothing to say when your argument lacks basis and is purely ignorant...

Taylor Kelly the ASU qb was also from idaho

This is true, I always forget about him. Not sure why. The state title game in 08 between Hill and Kelly was a fun one to watch. Just seems so long ago at this point.

Chalich is taking a pretty big gamble here. He decided to transfer without ever speaking to coach Stitt. The CDA Press had a Chalich relative saying something about speaking with Gregorak, presumably before Stitt was hired.

I'm sure Chalich is confident in his abilities. He knew who was here, who is coming in and the other transfers before he transferred to UM. His game will translate well to Stitts offense. As with any coach, Stitt is going to want talented kids and kids to compete for their job. Chalich will do that and I don't anticipate any of them rolling over because the competition is too stiff. Stitt isn't going to turn away a talent like Chalich because he already has 5 QB's or doesn't want to have a tough choice naming a starter. If I were him, I certainly wouldn't.

Do we have an unknown RB recruiting verbal?

On Bob Stitt's radio interview today, he mentioned that the prior staff did a great job of recruiting up to his hire. He said that when he came in they only needed to make a few recruiting adjustments for the offense. He said they are looking for another o-lineman and they want a couple more receivers. He mentioned they expect to play 8 receivers a lot with backups expecting to get about 40 reps a game. I have previously heard him state they want to play 10 receivers a game. He mentioned that we already have a RB in the recruiting class which I wasn't fully aware of yet. Could this be Tyler Davis, the Wisconsin kid listed as a CB/RB, or does somebody know if it's someone else?

...and the winner is by a unanimous decision...Grizindabox!

So Conner is a JUCO transfer and it sounds like, from his tweet and comments of his followers, that this isn't a visit but he's moving here...

[tweet]https://twitter.com/MALOBILL/status/556225478181150720[/tweet]

We need Mau plugging holes at Montana in front of 26K rabid fans!

Hope he loves his trip out here!

Connor is a griz. reading his tweets he's being congratulated and people wishing him luck. another nice WR in this class

McGuire could easily be the best blocking wide receiver the Griz have had in years, assuming his mashup is representative of what he can bring to a single game.

Info updated...

I looked at McGuire's tweets and it was hard to tell if the congrates were because he was transfering to UM or just traveling to the campus for a visit...

Will hold off until it is more concrete.

well, one congratulatory tweet said they were a Cat fan, but would make an exception for him....the tweets and responses very much sounded like he was transferring here.
