Markell should help immediately with CB depth. He was rated 2-stars and ranked 143 as a CB in the 2013 class per Scout and Rivals. Gotta love that Bellevue pipeline.

Signed by WSU for their spring 2014 practise session. If not mistaken, he should have four full years of eligibiltiy left: http://allcougdup.com/2014/01/22/washington-state-football-spring-enrollees-2014-cbs-markell-sanders/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Some brutal discussion here on not having a great first step. I wonder if he is a safety recruit for us as well. Thanks for the link.

From your link:
Prediction and Early Impact:

Markell Sanders has decent size and is going to be moved to safety, but at this point he is going to be a depth player for awhile. Part of the move is due to the fact that Sanders doesn’t have a great first couple of steps in either direction. He does do a nice job of rallying to the football, but he just doesn’t have a killer instinct once he’s there. He does a lot of catching and not a whole lot of hitting at the point of attack.

Eventually he’ll learn that if you don’t deliver the blow you’re either going to be run over yourself or shook straight out of your jock. He’s also been out of football for a year and a half, so it may take awhile to get back into it. The Cougs have much better depth at safety than at corner right now, so there will be time for Sanders to grow into the position, which is a good thing.

Being on Twitter, is benefiting Coach Stitt already. Right on Bjorn...MC looks great and I would take a couple of his offensive linemen too.

Very classy post by Mr. Schlichting. I am impressed by his shout out to those coaches lost in the shuffle. Very classy!

Yep. My thoughts exactly. At once he compliments the departing coaches, the remaining coaches, the NEW coaches AND the 'prestigious ' university. Smooth, indeed.

Markell was the #1 high school CB recruit in Washington. Einstein says that means he's "good". Can't wait to see him out there. He's a sure tackler. Excited for this kid.

Interesting that he lived him Bellevue, but instead of going Bellevue HS he traveled 15.5 miles to Eastside Catholic in Sammamish, WA.

This is the type of 1st class kid that the Delaney staff were going after. They are classy, and god fear'n. The Eastside Catholic boys are the same way...

Here is the 2014 Washington Class 3A state championship game: click on the 1:58:25 mark, and you will see Griz commit #70 RG Alex Neale (leaving it all on the field), and then let it run because real shortly after there is a quick interview with Griz commit #62 DE Cody Money Baker. Pretty cool.

Anyone know if the GRIZ are looking at Kellen strahm of Sheldon? He just won oregons 6a player of the year award
Unless he's got Pac-12 in him, I'd think we'd have the inside track given his brother is already here.

Same with Holme's little brother.

Former Griz Verbal AJ Hotchkins from Tigard is the So Cal Jc player of the year, anybody know if were still interested in him, looks like the bobkitties have offered him.

just for clarification he was never a verbal because we never offered him. I doubt at this point the GRIZ would be interested ... Much more pressing needs.
