Great to see 2 kids from WI on board. Who is the coach with connections in that area?

My first guess would be Ross Brunelle; I've heard that he was the one that scouted out Marc Rogers out of Indiana.

Random question but you know, this place is random...any thoughts on jessie sims either decommiting to osu and joining the griz or going to nebraska?

He pulled his verbal on advice from some of the staff that may or may not have a job now. Hasn't ruled OSU out was simply recommended he get his name back out there as no one at the time knew how long it would take to find a replacement for Riley and more importantly if the offer they made him would stand with the new staff. Has to be a bit scary as he committed fairly early to avoid the stress.

He hasn't ruled U of M or any other school out for that matter.

Payton. I saw a tweet buried in a post about a week ago on here. There is a Wazzu kid that was an early enrollee to WSU spring '14 and left before fall camp. Saw the tweet saying he was excited to be playing again with his Eastside Catholic buds with Griz in the post. Believe he was a WR at Eastside but a projected DB at Wazzu. No reports of trouble on him so not sure why he didn't go through fall camp.
If I remember correctly, his only offers were Idaho and WSU

DL commit Mau Ena named All San Diego section 1st team defense. Also of note are offered Tommie Woo (Hawaii) on the 1st team D, & OL Chris Gesell (undecided) on the 2nd team offense. No doubt Tyree Range would be on the list somewhere if not for the knee injury.

Marg Rogers' high school coaches at Concordia Lutheran High School first contacted UM regarding Marc.

Possible Griz preferred walk-on commits to a preferred walk-on spot with msu.

He is cousins with former Griz standouts Mike Ferriter and Vince Huntsberger.

“I kind of always wanted to go to Bozeman because of their engineering program,” said Ferriter, who will study chemical engineering at MSU.

He grew up a Griz fan, and only started leaning toward the cats when his older bother joined the msu track team, and then the same scholastic reason as his bro.

My main concern (other than he is really good) is this, "He said the University of Montana showed a little interest early in the season but none after it." There is no UM head coach in players homes around MT offering preferred walk-on offers. How many more are going to sign somewhere else before we land a head coach?

He said having Ash, MSU’s eight-year head coach, step foot in his living room clinched the decision.

“I felt really wanted,” Ferriter said.

Ferriter, a 4.0 student, said he’s looking forward to playing with Daum.

“He’s a great player,” Ferriter said. “There hasn’t been a Butte kid there for a while, since (Casey) Dennehy I think. Now there’s going to be two Butte kids.”

I'm really concerned about msu scooping up these Butte kids. msu is reversing the trend. I can think of only 1 player (Casey Dennehy - OG/FB/DE) that has went to msu football from Butte over the past almost 30 years. Whereas I can reel off probably a couple dozen that have gone from Butte to the Griz. :jack:

Intuitive, as someone else posted... Patience.

This temporary lack of a head coach is a problem. Most of us are anxious for an announcement and to get moving forward. I'm sure it will come soon. In the meantime I'd rather the Grizzlies lose a dozen quality kids before rushing to hire a poor coach who'll haunt us for years. Neither is a good thing, yet the former is much better than the latter.

If this process drags on for several more weeks (beyond Christmas) then we will lose out on more prospects. Yet the existing staff has identified the kids they think are best and I'm sure they're doing their utmost to keep them until a coach is selected. Hopefully it's soon, in the meantime don't sweat it. There is not a damn thing any of us can do.

Nice looking WR/DB recruit. Good length and speed. I hope he throws his hat in with the Griz.

Update on Jayson Williams II

He currently sits with offers from Eastern Washington, Montana State, Montana and Portland State. Williams is in no hurry to make a decision at the moment, wanting to make sure he weighs all his options before picking the school that best fits.

“I was planning to visit Montana during the season but we kept winning so that changed the plans of the visit,” Williams told NEI. “I’m definitely taking my visits before I make any decision, but I want to be smart on where I use my visits. I’m still catching interest from schools and if they offer I don’t want to have used up my visits.”

And with Stitt our head coach I can just feel the young guns wanting to come to Montana! More on the way!
