That is understandable.
Suspect he is not the only prospect waiting to see Montana make a hire. :ugeek:

Sure hope we don't lose any of our early commits. I really thought we would have had a couple more after the Cat and SD games. I'm sure this transition is difficult for everyone. Would love to have been a fly on the wall for some of these recruiting visits.

Eastside Catholic defeated 6-time defending state champion Bellevue for the state championship. Eastside Catholic lost the two previous championships to Bellevue.

I watched Eastside Catholic RG Alex Neale and DE/LT Cody Baker on every play (even re-winded and in slow motion). Cody Baker played both ways, didn't take a O or D play off.

Neale is incredible, he never once disappointed me, not on one single play! He won his battle every single time. And that was against some big boys! He is a punch you in the mouth and drive you into the ground interior offensive lineman, he works extremely hard
(great motor). He opens a lot of wholes. Eastside Catholic ran behind Alex a ton, he got it done. Sky is the limit for Alex... I want him to be a Grizzly, badly.

Baker is a dominant player, his potential is off the charts. He is an "Off The Bus" 1st teamer, he looks the part. He will cause a lot of havoc at DE for the Griz. He is someone that opposing offenses will have to keep track of, and double-team. He gets after the Quarterback, and stands very strong on rush defense. You're not going to push him out of the way. He will continue the great tradition at DE for Montana. He will play a lot of FB at Montana. Also, no limit on this phenom's potential.

Both players are physically gifted. There was D1 talent all over that field. Neale and Baker to Montana, others committed to a few Pac 12 teams (Stanford, USC, Wash), a player to Air Force, but I will tell you this, Neale and Baker were the two best players on the field! The announcers kept commenting on how Eastside Catholic dominated on both sides of the trenches, that that was how they won the game. Even when the tv went back to the Root Sports studio, those broadcasters commented on the dominant Eastside Catholic team was in the trenches and that's why they won.

Post game on the field, the announcers in the booth asked Baker to comment on Alex's and his commitment to Montana, and Baker said, "Oh yeah, we're going to tear it up over there." (with a huge smile)

:egriz:

We need to offer Senior Neale's and Baker's Junior teammates in 2016.

The Junior QB is one helluva player. He completed 20 of 22 passes in the championship, and also ran for just under 100 yards. He's a big kid, that runs the read-option very well. He has a strong arm and is very accurate. A lot of schools will be banging down this kids door. Plus he has a cool name, Harley. :thumb:

All of their WRs return for one more year, and a few of them are really good, dominant type receivers. The TE that they split out is really fast/athletic, but he is just a Soph. (but will be a blue-chip recruit)

We need to keep the Bellevue pipeline coming of course. But I will say this, Eastside Catholic looked like they had a lot of better players this year!

Very excited about this class, they can do great things, especially if they all stick together! Good stuff to see here:

Got to hand it to these recruits, they sure know how to use Twiiter positively. Just to think, it all started with Willie Pflug. These recruits seem like a tight group already. I have a good feeling they will not have to learn much in terms of leadership and being a team player. If and when we do make a move, it would be great to have this class as part of the move. :thumb:

That's good to see from Schlichting, given the post a couple days ago that UW was warming up to him...

Exactly how many slots are we thinking we have to fill? This seems like a stitt-load of players already verballing and we're not even halfway through December...

Mick Delaney said earlier today that the Griz had 13 verbals and that he thought 4 or 5 could possibly play as true freshman...

I watched the Washington 4A State Championship game, and Cole Ford is a great looking player at TE/DE. Great frame and runs very well. Tough kid. He played for Bothell and they won.

And RB Sam McPherson, Bothell, was injured a month ago and did not play in the championship. But the Root Sports announcers thought so much of him that they still interviewed him on tv after the game. McPherson was conference offensive and defensive MVP! BIG TIME PLAYER.

I've been watching with interest what is going on at Oregon State and noticing they are losing some verbals due to coaching change. Has UM lost and commits since Delaney announced his retirement?

sounds like Holden Ryan will be a griz

This would be a huge in-state commitment for the Griz! Very exciting news if true!!

I'd love to see him be a Grizzly. Montana has been his first choice. Though there are others pursuing him too. Not sure what either 'offered', but the Univ. of WA and Colorado State have both been courting him. Hope he stays with Montana.

a little further searching it seems like these guys are actually Montana commits, it would make sense if Delaney said there are currently 13 commits
