2015 Griz Football Recruiting- 4 Transfers/ 17 Verbals/ 4 WO's

Looks like we might be losing Schlichting, had on twitter he had a great in home visit with coach Shumaker at Idaho and things might be changing. :-(, also looks to have taken all his Griz posts down that he had from before. Hurry up February.

Why in the WORLD would anyone want to go to that dumpster fire of a program? I just don't get it.

Dalton Daum and Cameron Sutton both commited to the cats.

Sutton highlight and verbal was on the tv news tonight. Reporter said he was 6'6" and averaged over 20 yards a catch this season.

The Cats record breaking offense is just getting more dangerous.

I've wondered the same thing. I can only guess that it must be something along the lines of...

A coach who is a very persuasive person, and he convinces a prospect he'll be coming in to play right away for four years, and that he (the prospect) is that final key piece in helping their program turn the corner into a winner. It has to be something like that which convinces a kid that he is embarking on more than just plodding through a career in a poor, or at best a very average, program.

Idaho has a good new head coach (Paul Petrino) this season, and a young QB that can really sling it, 6'3" Matt Linehan. 1-10 this year, but they should improve. A lot of losses, but they were in most of those games.

Anyone know if the Griz are looking at Chase Benson out of Helena high? Only a junior, first team all conference and suppose all-state, 6'4" 245.

Chase is a dominant DE on the states #1 defense.

I heard he was having surgery on his leg on Nov 3, for a football injury, broken tibia and fibia.

State B semifinalist Bigfork dominated District 7-B's selections to the all-state team when the lists were released recently.

At the top of the list was senior Josh Sandry, a Griz recruit who made all-conference at five different positions. The quarterback and safety was also chosen as a first-team kicker and kick returner, as well as a second-team punter.

Congratulations to Josh Sandry :!: A truly great player.

The only other player that I know of that made the All-State team this season at 5 positions was Dalton Daum. Is there anybody else?

3 reasons Daum chose state over UM:

1) 1/2 sholly vs FULL scholly
2) Pro Style offense vs Spread
3) Unknown coach vs friendly coach Ash/staff

Intuitive,

I agree, it sucks. We get it. It's not an existential crisis though. We'll be fine and he'll be fine. The number of times you post the same or similar posts on any number of different threads won't change it. This doesn't rise to the level of pitchforks and torches. I understand it's important to you but it is what it is and its not worth vapor locking over it.

:D Your post made me smile, with a little chuckle. :thumb:

It is extremely important to me, yes. I get fired up, I am an emotional guy. ha

But his commitment is not final until probably the first Wed in Feb. So until then, I will be holding out hope that he changes his mind. Slim to none chance, I know.

But I will slow my roll so to speak (a little) on the Dalton Daum campaigning thing. I'll try to nauseate everyone as much.

Appears we may be getting a transfer from WSU who was a teammate of current Griz commits Cody Baker and Alex Neale at East side Catholic.

Markell Sanders, DB who enrolled early last year at WSU but left the team for some reason.

Woody Brandom was recently upgraded to 3 stars.

http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=7766725#video" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Had 52 catches for 880 yards which is an average of nearly 17 yards a catch, this was his first year of playing TE/WR after being a lineman. Glad Montana got on him early.

I posted when he verballed to UM that I thought Woody Brandom should be a 3-star recruit, and not the 2-star rating he was given :!:  I just get wiser with time... :thumb:

This is big-time news, he was 1st team all-metro as a JR...and a top player in WA.

It's probably a replay but I am Watching the 2014 WIAA 3A Championship, Bellevue and Eastside Catholic. The verbal C and DE look pretty good. I think they will be productive for the Griz in a couple of years if they do in fact sign.

sounds like Wazzu is trying to steal cody baker away

NOOOOOOOOOOO :!:

Cody Baker, Alex Neale and their Eastside Catholic team won the Wash 3A title, beating national powerhouse Bellevue by the score of 35-13.

Not worried about Baker and Neale going anywhere else read a tweet about Neale loving the Griz and he and Baker want to stick together, worried that Schlichting will leave and looks like Mau Ena will visit Colorado State and New Mexico in January.
