Just wondering if the Griz are recruiting Cooper Kupps little brother? I believe his name is Ketner.....anyway he was at the FargoDome for the Youngstown St game. I don't know how that came about, because we don't really recruit WA, so maybe he contacted us. Just wondering what you guys have heard about him and if the Griz were recruiting him as well. He plays LB and his film is pretty impressive.....seems to be a big hitter.

I don't believe so. EWU has offered.

Just hope the Griz don't get burned by him in the future like they have been with Cooper.

I don't think the Bison have offered him yet, as we are after a couple of pretty big time LBers out of WI, but he did come for a visit. Not sure if it was an official visit or not, was just seeing what you guys had heard about the guy and who has all offered him. Is EWU his only DI offer or does he have others?

Dalton Daum has made his decision.

The Butte High senior has decided to play football at Montana State University, Daum confirmed Sunday night. He can officially sign an NCAA Letter of Intent with the Bobcats in February.

Daum said he notified MSU coach Rob Ash of his decision Sunday night.

“I’ve been thinking about it since football got over,” Daum said. “I finally decided I was going to call him tonight and commit.”

Multiple schools showed interest in Daum. In the end, he said it came down to Montana or Montana State.

“I just felt MSU was a better fit for me,” Daum said. “They have a great offense, and they’re scoring more than 40 points per game. They have a great quarterback (Dakota Prukop), and he’s only a sophomore. I’ll be playing with him the next two years.”

Daum also said coach Ash and his staff factored into his decision.

“They’re really classy,” Daum said of the MSU coaches. “I was talking to some of the players during my visit, and they say they love to play for them. Those are the type of coaches I want to play for. MSU is also the only school that offered me a full scholarship.”

Daum, the reigning Class AA state champion in the 100- and 200-meter races, was a three-year starter at receiver for the Bulldogs. He helped lead Butte High to the 2012 Class AA state championship.

During his career at Butte High, Daum caught 196 passes for 2,997 yards and 32 touchdowns. He holds single-season school records for TD catches (16 in 2013), receiving yards (1,217 in 2013) and receptions (76 in 2013).

His numbers would have been even better had he not broken his right hand late in his senior season. He played the last two games with his hand in a cast. Daum, who was also a key member of Butte High’s defensive secondary, was also double and triple teamed by defenses throughout the season.

Daum recently got the cast off his hand. However, he said he is not playing basketball this season. He is instead going to focus on his track performance and his school work.

Daum, who ran a 10.66-second 100-meter dash last spring, said he is undecided about his major at MSU. He is the son of Rich and Julie Daum.

really hope he focuses on in weight &dedication to workouts, he could make grt gains if he does, i thought his times were gonna b faster from fr to jr but he still did grt, step up off seasons workouts since not playin bball, really hope he improves in this aspect with having grt natural talents, he will find just showing up will not propel him as it did in hskool&college level,, i expect him to b a dynamic player by jr & sr yr in big sky conf, potentially as a returner too,, skool grades 9.5/10. athletic ability 9/10/ , committment &workout off season 6.9/10... fball versatility 8.3/10 see him reaching 10.76 in 100m this if he works hard non windated , state records have to b attained at state track meet, he has a shot also in 200m...rare accomplishment in MT win both 100m&200m jr&sr yr

Slickcoach2 - His improvement in the 100m from his FR year to his SO year was good, from a 11.11 to a 10.89. But yes, his improvement from SO to JR was negligible, from a 10.89 to a 10.86. It will be interesting to see his 2015 state meet...

grzfn - he will be adding the 400m his SR year to his races, I believe. So look for possibly 3 more state championships in track for Daum.

Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year as a Junior
Will be on the podium all four HS years in the 100m and 200m (8 times)
Will be adding the 400m event I believe, so look for another podium finish.

The kid will need both hands to wear his HS championship rings. This is a highly decorated STUDENT-ATHLETE.

He is polite and a very nice kid off the field, but a fierce competitor on the field and in the classroom. He's the type of person that makes you proud to be a fan of.

YOU DON'T LET A KID LIKE THIS GO TO YOUR RIVAL AND NOT END UP FEELING IT. :twocents: Not only for what he does against you, but mainly for what he could have been doing for you in the other 40 games he could have been playing for you. :twocents:

I agree, it sucks. We get it. It's not an existential crisis though. We'll be fine and he'll be fine. The number of times you post the same or similar posts on any number of different threads won't change it. This doesn't rise to the level of pitchforks and torches. State B semifinalist Bigfork dominated District 7-B's selections to the all-state team when the lists were released recently.

At the top of the list was senior Josh Sandry, a Griz recruit who made all-conference at five different positions. The quarterback and safety was also chosen as a first-team kicker and kick returner, as well as a second-team punter.
