2014 Big Sky position rankings: Running backs

Canada is arguably ranked in the right spot, but not having Travon Van in the top 10 is ridiculous, especially considering those who are ranked in the bottom 5. Rachac cops out with the "working out at receiver" talk.

3. JORDAN CANADA, SR., MONTANA 2013: 211 car, 1,062 yds, 5.0 avg, 16 TD; 11 rec, 121 yds, 11.0 avg. THE BUZZ FOR 2014: Canada and Travon Van were a killer 1-2 punch last season, although Van struggled through injuries. Van, though, has been working out at receiver during fall camp, and that could mean even more carries for Canada, who ranks fourth in school history in rushing yards and TDs. Canada had six 100-yard games last year as the Griz switched to a pro-style offense, and his number will be called an awful lot again. Assuming a retooled offensive line comes together, another 1,000-yard season shouldn't be too much to expect.

Considering all those guys are starters and Van might play more WR then RB, the list seems right to me.

Rachac has shown in previous lists it's not necessarily about starters but who are the "best", and in that regard, Van is better than many on the list. Rachac also speculates some on who a starter may be or how he thinks a player is going to be (such as redshirt freshman who have not played).

As far as Van playing more WR than receiver, that is wrong. Mick has suggested that Van and Canada will both see about 20 plays at RB and Van may also have an additional 10-12 at WR. See link below.

Also, I would bet that if TV would have been healthy for the entire season last year he would have made the list. He has mad skills - just needs to stay healthy and on the field. Imagine TV, one on one, in space on a quick out or wide receiver screen. :thumb:
