When the Scats hit a 7, or better yet a 77, do they shut the gates?
lol. ya our attendance numbers always end with a 7.

hoping to get 12,000 tomorrow. or 12,007 i guess... :?
Why not aim high and hope for 12,077?

Looking at these attendance figures, I am reminded that we UM fans sometimes forget just how good we have it. I remember back in the '60s when UM attendance probably was in the 5000 range -- and I was one of them.

So anyone remember the proposal that the BSC commish floated a few months back about splitting the BSC in to FBS and FCS.

Well, based on these numbers that would NEVER work. I believe the NCAA still requires FBS schools to average 15,000+ attendance per game (which is why I still think Idaho is a joke and they cook their books, just check out their website sometime it is laughable...15,007 :lol: :lol: they also have THE smallest stadium in FBS if you look at the link below).

The ONLY BSC schools that average 15,000+ are UM and MSU (maybe EWU could get there with a stadium expansion).

UM needs to continue to prepare for the inevitable move to FBS by:

1. Building the new "Champions Center."
2. Finish stadium expansion by adding another 6-7,000 seats (westside with new Press Box and South end zone. That would put WGS firmly in the FBS numbers at least for the Mountain West Conference: http://www.collegegridirons.com/comparisons.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
3. FINALLY Double or triple desk the parking lot west of the Adams Center to provide parking for an additional 6-7,000 people (an hour to exit a Griz games is worse than leaving a Seahawks game).

Finally we probably need to send Engstrom packing before any of this can be accomplished. Under his current philosophy UM will not make the FBS move for many years.

I don't think we are ready for a move to FBS. Maybe in attendance, but if we move up and start losing games at home, attendance will drop. We haven't won a championship since 2001. I think we need to stay where we are. I love the Griz but I don't think it would be a good move.
