2012 toughest scheduled teams

In an effort to lighten things up a bit with all the shite going down on both sides of the divide, I thought I'd list who I think are the toughest games on our schedule this upcoming season...in no particular order.

-U of M
-Southern Utah
-North Dakota....maybe. I really don't know that much, nor have I researched much about them.

How about y'all? I'm interested to hear what you guys think your toughest games are going to be.

I acutally did a matrix a while back on strength of schedule, UM was actually fairly low, let me find that real quick...

In terms though of our toughest games, @ App and @ EWU will be the toughest challenges. We'll see where the Griz and cats are come Nov b/c that's always a battle.

Boom:

Looking at the SOS for the Big Sky conference in 2012, going for in conference play only, here's the order of difficulty based on last years W/L record (comined winning % of opponents):

T-1 EWU (59.14%)
T-1 SUU (59.14%)
3 UNC (56.99%)
4 Sac (52.22%)
5 MSU (50.55%)
6 UND (50.54%)
7 UCD (48.88%)
8 NAU (48.35%)
9 UM (45.55%)
10 ISU (45.05%)
11 WSU (42.86%)
12 PSU (42.22%)
13 CPSLO (40.91%)

So the Griz fans whining the Big Sky scheduling did them no favors... actually it did.

Yeah...Appy State would scare me too, and EWU with Patron and their stable of receiver's is a concern of mine as well. I'm not sure if I'm glad you guys are playing them before us or not, but that'll be a good gauge to see where we stand against EWU. I'm also glad that we didn't draw NAU this year, they always seem to get our goose somehow no matter how well we do before playing them.

How can that be with Appy, EWU, MSU on the schedule and 2 of those three on the road?

I would have thought your schedule would have been ranked a little higher as well.

It's based on last year's records and when you add in ISU and UNC it waters down our strength.

And MSU @ #5? Well, I guess that makes sense, in a relative sort of way. Northern Colorado with Drake beforehand; for MSU that does appear pretty daunting. In comparison UofM's entire regular season schedule looks like a cakewalk. If I was MSU I'd be scared, awefully, awefully scared. You know what happened 09 September 2006, don't you?

GO EAGLES!!!!! BREAK OUT THE MARGARITAS!!!!!

It also hurts that we beat everyone (that is, every common opponent from last year's schedule), lowering their record and our SOS.

I think UND will surprise some people.

UND will only surprise me if they're 4-4 or better in conference, or if one of their wins is against UM, MSU, or EWU. I have feeling I'm not going to be surprised.
