Pretty early for a basketball roster being presented; don't have it on the other site http://www.montanagrizzlies.com/rosters/?r=3&m=48" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as of yet. Maybe it's coming out this early in anticipation of big things forthcoming this year. Hope so.

That montanagrizzlies.com version of the roster is last year's team. Not sure if they'll update it, though. But I agree that it is kind of weird to reveal a roster more than three months before the season is to begin.

It is not really that odd to post the 2011-12 roster. I think if you went and looked at all the other teams in the conference I think you will find about half of them have been updated. The players listed are the "known" players. Players who are returning and those who signed last fall or spring. No surprises. Most likely the Lady Griz players have been on campus already taking a summer class or two so they know all of the returnees and signees are coming on board. Who will not appear on the list are any possible walk-ons (if any) who the coaches can not list or talk about until they start attending classes this fall. Remember also this roster can always be updated.

I am not sure about the roster. But I can say that I did visit with coach Selvig about how shaky his team looked (to me) early on last year. I did not see them becoming a good team but I have to hand it to the man, he can coach! He gets every inch out of each girl and then some. He blew it off and acted like it was business as usual. Now that is a coach, period. We are very luck to have such a talent!
