2008 Weber State Loss

We are trying to remember 2008 when the Griz lost to Weber in Ogden fairly early in the season and then the Griz went on to win the rest of their regular season games, playoffs, which included playing Wever, and go to the FCS championship. There was one game at WGS where the team and the fans stayed and watched on Grizvision the final minutes of a Weber State game. Can someone tell me what game the Griz just finished playing and who Weber was playing? What impact did that have on the two teams? Thanks.

The game was Weber State - Cal Poly. Cant remember who the Griz played that day.

I think it was MSU and the Griz beat MSU. Everyone was watching the Weber - EWU game because if EWU beat Weber and they did, then we shared the conference title with Weber. We did go on the beat Weber in the playoffs at WGS. I am trying to confirm what I think by asking if anyone else remembers the game. A case of beer is riding on this.

Yeah, it was Texas State Bobcats. 1st round. The Griz played a bad first half and then came out and killed them. Weber beat Cal-Poly, at Poly, who had just beaten Minnesota and were considered legit contenders. Then Weber came to town, and regardless of what the final score was, which was kind of close I think, the Griz just demolished them because the O-line dominated. Then the Griz went and smacked down JMU at their place, but lost the championship to either Villinova or Richmond. I blame the loss on a terrible second half game plan.

Your right. Forget what I wrote before. The Weber vs. Poly game was a night game after Texas State, which I watched on the internet, not on Grizvision.

That wasn't the game we were watching on Grizvision. EWU was ahead of Weber and Weber had the ball in the final seceond and fumbled. You are right about the playoff games but the game we were watching on Grizvision was Weber and EWU.

Yep, you are correct.

also 2010 Weber State loss, where Tafuna ran right through the griz defense if that's what you call it, & make it 2012 loss as well. 3 losses in a row in otown.

Correct, the Griz had just beat the cats but it was looking like unless EWU beat WSU we'd not win a share of the Big Sky. Weber had a stud running back that year and he fumbled late to stop a big WSU comeback. Many of the players were sitting on the field watching the game on the big TV.

The rb was Trevyn Smith, we was a great back for us. On that series EWU couldn't stop us, but Smith ran into his blocker when he turned upfield and if I remember correctly it was EWU's Peach that ended up with the ball.

And, (if I remember right) after the Weber game was over on Griz vision, the PA system played the final moments of another game somewhere that determined that the Griz would then have a home game for the first round of the playoffs.
