I learned from a solid source that the Griz are still looking at 2 possible JC transfers, both of which would fill the 2-3 position, and both of which will have had visits by the end of this weekend. Here is a little info:
Todd McCoy: Johnson County Community College
G/F
6-4
John Bartram / Philadelphia, Pa.
Cant seem to find much info on the kid. He led his team in scoring (16.6) and rebounding and was first-team all-conference in the Kansas Jayhawk JC division. He was also under consideration for All-America honors.
Anyone with a little better research ambition and access to recruiting sites, feel free to update this...

Riley Luettgerodt can flat out score
Even after leading the state in scoring as a senior at Rex Putnam High School, Riley Luettgerodt found the Division I recruiting scene pretty barren. But now that the athletic 6-foot-5, 210-pound wing is once again leading his league in scoring - this time at the JC level at Chemeketa CC in Salem, the story is a lot different. Luettgerodt now has legitimate D-I offers to choose from, and should be finally moving up to the next level during the spring signing period.
"Riley has had a phenomenal year," said Chemeketa head coach David Abderhalden. "He's leading the NWAACC in scoring, increased his rebounding, and his assists are up too. He's still shooting a great percentage, and he recently set a Chemeketa single game scoring record with 53 points against Lane. He's learned how to get his offense in the flow a lot better too. He's really raised his level of play."
The numbers that Luettgerodt has put up are simply mind-boggling. He's averaging a robust 27.3 points on 54.8 percent field goal shooting, almost 44 percent from three-point range, and 80.7 percent from the line. He's adding in 7.7 rebounds and over two assists a game for good measure. It's no wonder why a number of schools have already decided they want him in their program, and more could be joining the fray.
"He has six solid offers on the table right now - Montana, Montana State, Portland State, Northern Arizona, San Jose State, and Hawaii," Abderhalden said. "There are a handful of other schools that are still messing around a little, like UC-Santa Barbara and Mississippi State, and even Oregon we've had some conversation with but I don't know how serious they are. Right now our spring break starts in March, so he's got three (official) visits left and will start taking them then."
Luettgerodt, who has made unofficial visits to Portland State since it's near his Gladstone home, has already taken visits to UC-Irvine (which occurred last spring) - and Montana State (which happened in the fall), so who gets one of his final three spots should be in good shape. At this point, things are still wide open - even to new suitors - but Abderhalden believes that everyone right now will get a fair shot.
"I think that he'd be a great fit with any of the schools that have offered him so far," Abderhalden said. "I think the opportunity is there for him to go in and contribute right away, and that's what all of them have said that he'd do."
But for now, Chemeketa still has league games to finish and a post-season to play. However it all ends, one thing is for sure - Abderhalden feels very priviledged to have had Luettgerodt's services the past two seasons.
"I would say that he's the best offensive player I've had the time I've been here," Abderhalden said. "He might not be the best shooter I've ever had, but his all-around ability to score is so great. I've really had the pleasure of coaching him."

With his JC career over, Riley Luettgerodt has to figure out what's next
The season has concluded for the Chemeketa men's basketball team, but the future is beginning to settle into view for star player Riley Luettgerodt as he now faces the formidable yet enviable task of choosing where he will next ply his basketball talents.
According to Chemeketa head coach David Abderhalden, Luettgerodt's itinerary shapes up like this:
-Montana - will visit Coach Larry Krystkowiak who has taken his team to two straight Big Dances and just beat Nevada
-Hawaii - will visit Coach Riley Wallace and the bikinis, sun, sand, balmy temperatures -- did we say bikinis?
-Northern Arizona - in the running, Coach Mike Adras' team won the Big Sky regular-season title and he was named Coach of the Year
-Montana State - visited in the fall -- Coach Mick Durham just announced his retirement
-Portland State - visited unofficially since it is so close to home
-Cal Irvine - visited last fall, no longer in the mix
A recruit can take five official visits and Luettgerodt isn't sure who will be the recipient of his final tour. Many other schools are nibbling.
As for the recent Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) tournament, Chemeketa first faced Shoreline CC out of Seattle and won handily, 83-65. Abderhalden liked his team's play, stating "we executed well." Luettgerodt scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the game.
Spokane CC was up next and proved a much tougher foe. Chemeketa was up by 20 with eight minutes to play but lost 84-82 on a buzzer-beating shot. According to Abderhalden, "It was great entertainment for the fans." Luettgerodt upped his scoring to 28 points while also contributing 15 rebounds and six assists.
Then, against in-state rival Lane CC, Luettgerodt exploded for 38 points as Chemeketa cruised to a 104-83 win. He also added 11 rebounds and notched six assists.
Finally, Chemeketa took on Mt. Hood CC and lost by five, 79-74, with Luettgerodt scoring 27 and handing out seven assists.
A first-team all-tournament selection, Luettgerodt led all players in scoring with a 25.8 ppg. average. He finished second in rebounds and assists, with 38 and 19 respectively.
So round and round Luettgerodt will be going. Where he'll stop nobody knows. Not even him. At least not right now.
