#2 Eastern Washington @ Northern Arizona Game Thread

EWU's pass defense kills them in the end, both big pass plays the safety is completely turned around, leaving the receiver wide open.

WTG NAU, that sure helps the GRIZ and Cats. NAU now in good position to win out, which would be a playoff berth for them.

3rd string QB comes in and leads a game-winning drive with 50 seconds left. Thought that only happened on Friday Night Lights

Another verification of the view that loss of a star qb makes a huge difference and causes losses. I know a number of Griz fans don't agree with that, as they won't admit that UM's not having JJ in '12 resulted in alot of losses that wouldn't otherwise occurred.

Congrats NAU!
Love it! But, I'm still absolutely confused by Root Sports leaving the game to go to ... where??
The game didn't cut away here in Butte?
It sure did in Missoula. All of a sudden we got a little box saying, "This game is not available in your area .... etc., etc., etc."

Get off your high horse. Plenty of people stated on this board that we would've likely won more games in 2012 if JJ had played.

NAU, 50 seconds to win..... 70 ish yards

So we go from this quote to...
TD NAU. What the heck happened a big play or 50 seconds of pounding the ball down the field? :D

3 plays, one QB run for like 2 yards. One pass for like 40. One pass into the end zone for a TD. 8 seconds till NAU wins.

Qwerty, thanks for the quick summary. :ugeek:

1st play - NAU's QB is flushed and runs for a few, takes about 25 seconds off the clock, just a dumb play. I was getting ready to post that no way is NAU going to pull this off.

2nd play - Deep post route, EWU safety for some reason runs in to undercut the WR thinking the throw is coming early. Instead the QB holds the ball and throws it over his head for a big ass completion, WR runs out on the 20.

3rd play - Touchdown, similar play and attacking the same safety who does the same thing, rushes up to meet the slot WR at the goalline but is then caught on his heels - WR is open and the QB drops the ball right onto him.
