Pretty status quo. Good intensity, fun to see the guys out there. Not much to be seen as far as big questions going forward, they still do have Kris Brown out there pretending to be QB 1/2. I can’t imagine that is the plan for the season, would definitely like to see Vidlack and McDowell more going forward. Corner and tight end seem to be the biggest question marks, should be fun to see the battles over the next month leading to the season. I feel confident with this team so far, here’s hoping to a great season. Go griz, and FTC

Really? You can’t imagine it? Even after the last two years?

Eeeeeeeeeasy, big fella. It was the first practice.

People can say a lot about Bobby Hauck, but he has been consistent in saying that when camp starts every position is a competition. I wouldn't read too much into who is getting what reps. There is a lot we don't know. Primarily, any lingering injuries or physical issues (a guy rolls his ankle, you would probably rest him a bit so he can recover from that tiny, minor thing), coaching plans, and even possible motivational tactics.

It will be a lot more interesting to see who is taking first team reps two weeks from now.

I wouldn't look too much into someone's performance during their first practice. A lot can be attributed to one's state of mind which isn't in tiptop shape when it comes to doing thing for the first time or in new circumstances. I can't count the amount of times my first impression was wrong, but then maybe I'm just not that good at reading plays.
