#12 UM vs #1 NDSU Game Thread

Great first half griz!!! Sadly, the coach has made some bonehead calls and has given the lead to NDSU. Get em in the 2nd half.

Coach Stitt needs to not try and be so cute!
 
very impressed with stitt's offense, should dominate in big sky and destroy montana state.

ndsu defense is scaring me, need more speed, drop some DB's into coverage and take out LB's.

Fantastic game so far. I didn't expect this much first time out with our offense. We are in great shape. I like it. Thing I see is to put a spy on the qb. Happens to us a lot. Getting the feel out there and don't forget who we are playing. That's a quality team and it's a fight.
 
Two red zone visits were field goals for the Griz. If they can get better timing down it will be a shoot out in the second half. The Griz need to come out and score with the ball first. Our defense needs make a couple stops. Bison defense will make adjustments too. We'll see what Stitt brings in the second half.

I don't necessarily have an issue with going for it on 4th down, but doing it in that situation was dumb...
 
Probably already posted by someone, but we need a damn kicker with a leg. The Bison field position has been ridiculously good thus far. Put the frigging ball out of the back of the end zone. Just like they have been doing to us.

Yes but every play by an OC has something in mind. Now they may be just a smidge hesitant sometime in the second half thinking that play is a possibility. But agreed, bad call! :lol:

It was a bad call only because it didn't work. If it had worked, we'd all be on here raving about what a genius move it was.

Myself, I'm pretty happy with how things have gone, overall. The Griz are going toe-to-toe with the #1 FCS team in the country, with a brand new coach, new system, new starting QB (let's see, what else?) ... and down by one TD at the half. Remember last year? We pretty much knew that no useful halftime adjustment would be made. Now that may happen again, but Stitt has said right from the start that he expected to make halftime adjustments to give his team the best chance to win.

In other words: We have them right were we want them. :lol:
(Just kidding. I too wish we could have gone in with a lead, or at least a tie at halftime.)

I like it that Stitt is going ball out to win this game. Maybe not wise, with the hook and ladder type call, but fun to watch. He has a lot to win more to win than just the game. If he loses, not too big of a deal.

Danny Peoples booted most of his kickoffs into the end zone last year at Butte Central. We may see him this year.
 
Coach Stitt at half time. "We're going to keep grinding them, we're at 45 plays they're going to have a tough time coming out of the locker room."
