#12 Montana vs Sacramento State Game Thread

Keep track of how many yards Sac State gets NOW that we're going to prevent defense....THIS is why stats only tell part of the story.

S-H is playing because he is the backup QB. If either of the other guys were better, they would be playing over him.

Yep. That's why I'm okay with that. Now, if the subs score a couple more TDs, then you should send in the way-down guys.

Game Balls?

I nominate the O-line, and the offensive coordinators.

Hard to pick an individual out for the outstanding defensive effort. Amazing day for the D!

First string D gave up 215 yards in 3 quarters and 5 minutes of the 4th. That's some serious work there.

I am damn proud of the way our team played today, in every aspect of the game. Best they've looked all year - in fact, it's the best they've looked in several years, IMO. Go Griz!!!

+1 Could the Griz be starting to peak at the right time?

Not sure how many saw the on-field post game interviews, but the well-spoken and intelligent nature of UM's players make me more proud to be a Griz fan than any W/L number ever could.

Yep, they looked good

I listened online and agree that it was well-played. I still wasn't a huge fan of SOME of the play-calling. It just seemed like the execution of the same stuff we've seen has gotten better. That's a definite bonus. It seemed like JJ had just a little bit more time to get things done behind the O-line that stood up better today. That was good. Maybe those who saw it in person have a different take. I'm glad the D pretty much shut down that Hornet offense that scored so many points previously. A VERY good sign with EWU pending.... I really like our chances against State, so a win next week is imperative. I know, they're all imperative, but one week at a time as they say. Nice job by the entire team and staff.

Go Griz!

I'm watching the game at a bar, so I saw, but didn't hear. But I agree that this is more important than the on-field performance.

Agreed! He created that new play called the 1st called hole is never open so skirt end. Interior holes still hard to come by even playing a marginal Hornet D.
