This ones on Gregorak. No timeouts, knows they have to get out of bounds and he choses to let them run willy-nilly to the sidelines whenever they want. Wasted a great effort by the defense.

The defense played outstanding. They were on the field all of the 3rd quarter. I believe Brady had 5 turnovers so given what the offense gave them, Gregorak called a good damn game.

I agree.............Defense can only do so much, and it did !!

Put the players in position to make the plays. Force CP back to the middle of the field. Take away the edges. And I'm not absolving Stitt. Pretty uninspired play calling, when he needed to help pick his QB up.

I was not impressed with some of the Cal Poly coaches play calling. Especially at the goal line. I expect better coming from academic elites against plaid-shirted, tobacco chewing moose hunters from the backwoods of Montana.

Stitt hunts moose?

Piss poor offensive performance. No two ways about it. Gustafson was off both weeks. Consistently throws high. Consistently throws behind on crossing routes. Gotta get some run threat also. This loss was entirely the fault of [the non]-offense.
Yep. No run game to speak of, bad throws by QB, receiver drops, etc. And I suspect not many D teams will hold CP to 20 point (or less) ... they did as well as could be expected.

Might actually be a good learning experience (painful as it is for fans ... and the team). Playing with many ragged edges, they beat a good team and then lost to a good team. My guess is -- young men being young men -- that the coaches might have had some trouble getting the Griz O to really work as hard as they should have on their first-game problems during the week. After all ... they won the game. Maybe now they will listen.

Can they beat Liberty on the road? Unless the O makes major improvements? Probably not, because the burden will be thrown on the D ... and Liberty is a good team playing at home.

Our defense was incredible. We usually get trounced by the option but we actually did a really good job on defense today. The defense did make a mistake by not taking the edge away on that final drive but the rest was really really good.

Our offense was beyond horrendous tonight. Brady giving up five turnovers is obviously too much. He fit some good balls in but he sailed too many. Our offensive line needs A LOT of work. The short passing game is where we need to settle until our o-line gets better. Nguyen played a good game and so did our receivers.

I'm really impressed with Lider. He has really stepped into his role well.

Hindsight says we should have punted it on that last fourth down but I actually really like going for it. However, I don't like the playcall. We struggled running the ball all game(106 yards all game with an average of 3.9 yards and that includes Nguyens one real breakout run.) We should have spread the field out and either done a short pass or a QB draw. Brady did well I think on getting the yardage on those running plays.

We have A LOT to improve on including in the coaching department and that comes with time. Guys we are 1-1 with a new QB, coach, and system. We got to watch two GREAT games of football that both came down to the last play and that's awesome. I'm excited for the year but I guess I am a little worried about the BSC. Apparently this year we don't have an easy win. Every single one of our weeks seems difficult with the exception of UCdavis and possibly Weber(who actually had a fairly decent game against Oregon state.)

Academic elites? Does Cal Poly have a 4.0 GPA player in chemistry, finishing out a second or minor in philosophy, Rhodes Scholar candidate?

Seriously?

I am a superstitious person. I say retire the Granite jerseys. I was not fond of the over all look. Offense played boring just the way the jersey looked.. Dump the Granite....

Good luck to the Griz for the rest of the season. UM played very well and we were fortunate. Fortunate generally does not work that well for CP in Missoula. It was a great game regardless of the outcome. Great game.

Damn. This loss sucks. At least we are The University of Montana.

And you still have Monte...

So there's that

And the flagship designation. That's the main thing. For me, UM could lose every game, but I would remain a fan of The University of Montana. There is only one.

Here's some #StittHappens innovation that you can take to the bank

CAL POLY 4 of 6 on 4th down Conversions

montana O for 3 on 4th down Conversions

Yep, its innovative alright, it's just others do it better.

Montana is a quality program. Some mistakes were made tonight but it's early in the season. My biggest problem is how you place Montana and NDSU in the AGS poll?

Is Stitt going to the bar tonight? I'd love to hear of all the shots he does and telling the fans off
Right, and I'm sure the whole BSC is just trembling in fear of the Cats after their win over powerhouse Fort Lewis

Adams State? I thought they had scheduled the game today with Bozeman High.

It was the little sisters of the poor...

But you might if you saw all of the decleaters in that game.

Seriously, they may be out of position a lot, but damn they lay the lumber when they get a chance.
