Looking at each team's last two weeks:

Jacksonville State @Murray State (4-5) and vs Tenn Martin (6-4). Murray is 3rd in the conference while UT-M is 2nd. While J'ville would presumably be the favorite this is quite the final two weeks.

Eastern Washington vs Idaho State (2-7) and @ Portland State (3-6). Pretty easy road for EWU, that PSU matchup could be interesting.

North Dakota State vs Indiana State (4-6) and @ South Dakota (4-5). Much like EWU, fairly easy road.

James Madison @ Villanova (7-2) and vs Elon (2-7). And JMU just knocked off Richmond. The Nova game will be a tough one

Sam Houston State @ Northwestern (1-8) and vs Central Arkansas (8-1). That UCA game is shaping up to determine who wins the conference.

Citadel @VMI (3-6) and @ North Carolina (7-2). Odd to see an FBS matchup late. Presumably will split but not get hurt by the loss.

Chatanooga vs Wofford (6-3) and @ Alabama (9-0). These FBS powers sure love a play-down before their conference championship. Wofford could be a challenge.

Richmond vs Delaware (4-5) and @ William & Mary (4-5). Nice end of the season setup for Richmond.

Central Arkansas vs Nicholls (5-4) and @ Sam Houston (9-0). Nicholls is 3rd in the conference. Tough final stretch for UCA.

North Dakota vs NAU (5-4). UND's bye is the last week of the season. If they beat NAU and get a seed they'll presumably have 2 weeks off.

They finally took SOS more into account it seems. After getting blasted by NDSU media last week for not doing that, it seems to have worked.

If we took just these ten teams and considered none others for the top 8 seeds I could see the final breakdown as follows:

1. Eastern Washington (should win both)
2. North Dakota State (should win both)
3. Jacksonville State (although if they drop a game they'll tumble)
4. Sam Houston (having UCA at home should help)
5. Citadel (will split, but UNC loss won't hurt them)
6. Richmond (should win out)
7. North Dakota (Assuming a home win against NAU)
8. James Madison (I'll guess they lose to 'Nova but hang tight)

That puts Chatanooga and UCA on the outs

A rare, behind-the-scenes look at the committee at work:

Having the last week off will screw them out of a seed....it almost always has in the past. The committee is biased for the "now" teams.

Also I would love playing a team in the playoffs coming off a two week rest. Hard to start up again after 2 weeks of no football.
