He signed a 7 year $2.5-$3mil contract (incentives). A big school could buy out, but then bohl would owe NDSU $450k (ain't that much)

Hopefully NDSU gets an invite to mountain west soon

I hope NDSU's strategy for keeping Bohl involves more than hoping for a Mountain West bid, because that is not coming anytime soon. And of course, the same goes for Montana. Sun Belt sure...WAC sure...but Mountain West, not a chance.

Hopefully a WAC invite comes for NDSU and Montana soon!!

What Brint said. Wouldn't surprise me if he is looked at for the Nebraska job if they let Pelini go this year.

Also, he had a 3-8 record in 2009. So he would have "sucked at coaching" according to many on here and would have been chased out of town a long time ago...

I would be VERY surprised if he was hired at Nebraska because of history at the school.

Weren't there some "issues" that surfaced about the time he left, or shortly afterwards? Thought I remembered something about this.

I could be wrong, but I think he was let go strictly for his defense's performance.

This! He's been able to establish a stable of side action in Fargo. It's not about the money for Bohl, it's about the bitches!

Craig Bohl has been at NDSU for that long. Hell, we have had 3 coaches in that time frame.

How much does our coaching carousel affect the Griz?
Quite a lot. If we still had Bobby, we would not have missed the playoffs 2 of the last 3 years and definitely would not have had a losing season last year. With that said, I could never blame a coach for wanting to earn 3-4 times more with a different school.

We should feel fortunate though that our coaches are wanted elsewhere. I sure hope that continues (post Delaney).

If we still had Bobby the Griz still would not have a third national championship, even though they would have likely made the playoffs each year, with a deep run or two and maybe another trip to the chipper.

Joe Glenn would have led the Griz to at least one more title had he stayed for 10 years. The Griz teams he coached had some similarities to NDSU in that the defense kept them in games and the offense did just enough to get by. Remember that tying 24 game win streak before the Griz fell apart at the end, with some off field trouble, if I recall correctly. Many of those games were close victories that were decided near the end of the game. Regardless, the Griz had that swagger and the it factor of pulling it off in crunch time.

Oh yeah, the coaching staff, especially Hauck's, also had the ability to make solid adjustments at halftime, something missing as of late.
