Impressive so far, he is addressing a lot.

(1) Hasquet's stepping up in play and willingness to do whatever it takes. He said they talked to Jordan about not worrying about stepping on toes, and his time to lead now, he is, and will continue to set the tone. Including becoming more vocal.

(2) Using bench players' players perfomance over the heads of starters not meeting expectations. He mentioned Chavez' and Staudacher's performances in particular off the bench. All players have been told you play well and hustle, you play. You don't, you sit!!! Sounded like the last warning the staff will give this year. It is open competition every week now!!!!

(3) NO MORE WHINING, TIME TO PERFORM, YOU WHINE, YOU SIT!!!
:thumb:  For those not listening, he said it with conviction. Have a feeling the coaches said it much more stern to the players. Wayne and the staff are getting "TOUGH".

(4) As for rotation, they are going with guys that are earning minutes now, and he will still go with gut feelings when he has to.

(5) IMHO, based on what I heard and Tinkle's voice tone, the coaches mean business and every player is expected to mean business from here on out!!!!! (not his words, but my interpretation).

Finally, huge games this weekend. We are facing the top 2 teams in the league this week. We win 2, we are back in the driver's seat. We need to get our asses to the games to support the team this week. This week is the biggest week of the season thus far. Let's do our part as fans and get 5500 plus at both games. By the sounds of it, we are begining to see the GRIZ of the previous 2 years.

I agree with that assessment. If the Griz can take care of business at home with two of the league leaders coming to Dahlberg Arena, then they are right back in the race for the BSC Title. If they split, they are ok, lose both and they are in a dogfight the rest of the season. :twocents:

I am not sure I have a lot of confidense in the offense at this time. It appears for the most part on living and dieing on the 3pt play. That will get you a .500 season. They will not win it at the free throw line. I would like to see more motion and crisper screens and picks. That being said they desperately need some leaders to step up and lead. Those leaders, then, and all the players, take ownership of not just the team's execution and effort and focus, they take possession of its fate. If that happens then a campion can be the end result. The coaches can teach all of the basics, what to do, and how to do it. After that they need to step back and allow the team to evolve with leaders. Will that happen with the Griz?
