“THIS TEAM IS NOT AESTHETICALLY PLEASING”

Those were Bobbys words after the Idaho win and I can’t think of a better description.

Put that everywhere. Ride that wave. I wasn’t high on this years team. But if they can embrace that mentality it gets me a little excited. Put it on shirts.

That was a great phrasing by Bobby! Basically a, we win ugly.

“THIS TEAM IS NOT AESTHETICALLY PLEASING” I would add "THEY HAVE JUST KEPT WINNING!"

Which is weird, because that win didn’t HAVE to be ugly. Bobby packing it in and playing not to lose is what makes almost EVERY win ugly…not sure what he’s hoping to gain, but taking his foot of the throat every single game is gonna come back and bite us in the ass at the worst possible time.

That was the phrase that stuck out to me, too. I dunno if that’s a subtle way of acknowledging his critics, or just his honest observation. But he’s right. And that’s fine. But it does make me bonkers that the tendency is to play keep away when they have a lead instead of putting the proverbial boot on their necks.

Totally agree. It’s like run three times, punt, and put it on the defense. Sh&t, the slant was working all day long! Throw a screen. Empty the backfield with five wide, and run a QB draw. Well, maybe he’ll change it up-he’ll have to. The defense shouldn’t have to bail out ultra conservative play calling every week.

What a fucking quote.

Fits this team to a tee.

I hope they win ugly the entire rest of the year.

It just means that every game is going to be a grind. If we don't keep it close we r screwed.
Good win though!

Actually it fits his “play not to lose” style he deploys at any point in the 2nd half of every game in which we hold a lead. EVERY game looks ugly because he refuses to crush the opponent’s throat.

If McD hits Fontes early in the 4th quarter on that post, he was gone, the game is dunzo and probably called a routing by most. One of these days, we are going to out someone away.

With McD's general erraticness (is that a word?) there are opportunities that are missed, for sure. That was definitely one. On the other hand, the WR's HAVE to catch the ones that are catchable, and Fontes' missed TD and that horrific drop by Racanelli were the two egregious ones that stood out...those would have been game changers.

100% agree. Why not play to win but I have always said BH plays not to lose. If you play to win, bury a team, then you can rest starters, avoid injuries and most importantly develop the next man up. We put 2 halves together like the first half and not only do we crush Idaho, we should/could beat anyone!! Hoping this is the spark we need.

“Prevent Offense” gives us more to complain about. He’s still putting too much on the backs of the defense.

This. The GRIZ took shots in the second half, they just didn't connect. McD makes that TD throw 9 out of 10 times, so I'm not too worried there. They also had a few critical drops on third down which would have moved the chains.

Idaho is a damn good team. Gotta give them some props for making plays in the second half.

Bobby is on point with this
I'll take winning ugly but damn that was a lot of drama for 11 pm
I generally don't like when teams play to not lose but that first half was so fun it's changing my mind on what this team is, keep improving and that looks like a team no one would like to see in the playoffs
