Over the three days starting tomorrow, there are at least 48 games that have FCS teams playing an FBS opponent. With so many, I thought it would be fun to invent a new (as far as I can recall) poll involving those games.

The table below shows the ones I have been able to identify. Of course, a few of the matchups are shown for the “upset guesses” topics, but we’re going to do something different. (Lots of games, so I may have missed one or two.) [Pay no attention to the box label ... this was the only good way to create a table that didn't take up so much room. Works, but it's ugly. ;) ]

Most of these games shape up to be blowouts. But even so, I see a half dozen or so where there’s a credible chance for an upset, and maybe a half dozen more where you might stretch the point. And usually, there’s at least one upset that no one expected. You don’t have to pick what the specific upsets will be (although you can post those too), just pick a number.

Nine FCS-FBS matchups today (Thursday). None being broadcast on regular TV, but five showing on ESPN3.

The person who picked "None" is looking better after last night. Not one upset out of the eight chances happened: SUU at Utah State (9-12) was the closest. Of course, the Stony Brook at Toledo game ended up canceled due to massive thunderstorms in the area.

First two days sucked ... only the one upset (Fordham over Army).

At least it's looking better today. KU just scored, but SDSU could have their number.
And right now Richmond leads Maryland ... but that's likely to go the other way right soon
Plus: YSU scored first (FG) over Pittsburgh and Maine scored first (FG) over BC.

Not likely to hold up (except SDSU), but looking better.

I'm pulling for UND to spring one on WYO.
That would be cool.

And we need it. Hoped we'd get at least a couple, maybe three, out of the games this morning and got just the one (SDSU).

Youngstown St tit for tat with Pburg. 37 to 45 Pitts. 4 min left. Big plays keeping Penguins in the game and big plays keeping Panthers in the lead.

So Illinois blocked a punt into the end zone and scored a TD ... then scored a 2-pt conversion. They lead 11-7. (Game on at ESPNEWS, DirecTV channel 207).

Edit: UND scored first against Wyoming (52 yard break-away run).

Low-End Body-Bag Game

Midway thru the 3rd quarter, Northern Colorado is hanging on against Western State 28-27.
