Thread for arguments with Hoops about things that have nothing to do with Griz or FCS football

Good idea. I rarely start the arguments.

Also, I have sometimes thought that I should have my own thread to post in, only for substantive or informational posts. and no one could respond or post. Then, these stupid fights wouldn't get started by the half dozen or so yahoos who like to follow me around.
 
Here's a bet in the making. DKB says he's making income at same rate as the top 45 26 year olds in the US. I called BS on that. This is from the Political section, but this isn't political.

Okay, $1,000. You get 2 years to make 2 times what I made. Starting Jan. 1, 2026? Our end dates are both 12/31/27. I look forward to seeing the AGI lines in your tax returns. And I can furnish official social security income for the years prior to the more recent years for which I still have copies of my tax returns (and thus my AGI lines). And, I need you to get your name to someone on the board, or somewhere, whom we both trust. Now, to start the bet.

Yup, I assumed that. I did some checking to see what he would have to be doing for AGI to back up his bet with me. He said he was 25. For 26 year olds in the US, he would have to be one of the top 45 in the US according to AI:

"IRS Data on Young High Earners
    • Under Age 26 Cohort: According to Internal Revenue Service data compiled for a recent baseline year, exactly 45 single filers under 26 reached the $X million-plus threshold."

You can start your own blog. I’m sure nobody would follow it. But you could start one and it would probably make you feel good as well.

I trust you. You would need to get our names and contact info too. We'd have to wait until our 2027 tax returns were filed, to show the AGI listed on. Cover page (or enough to verify whose return it is) plus AGI.

Seems to me DKB needs to furnish his 2 years of AGI, and that will be compared to lifetime earnings of Hoops per official SSA records. Hoops would probably not need to provide his latest earnings.
