Well this didn't age wellPosted in another thread.
Spoke with a West recruits dad. He thinks Olsen will definitely be a Griz. Honestly shocked he hasn’t announced it yet. Thinks Humphrey is deciding between Griz and Cats but leaning Griz. They are excited to have three West High kids together especially with how close they are. Humphrey is getting recruited by Oregon State and Washington State, plus Idaho State. Said conversations with Idaho State have been very impressive but no real chance he goes there. Told Nevada he was no longer interested. Might do some official visits this summer so not in a huge rush to commit.
Said something interesting. Recruiting has been night and day different since BK started. Dad said he is thoroughly impressed with BK because he seems to really care about the kids and the families. Said there was about a 0% chance he’d be going to the Griz if Hauck was still coaching. Also said he feels the cats are starting to get desperate. His words not mine.
So guess we will see how this shakes out. But looking good to add to the class with some more Montana kids. Then need to finalize with some solid out of staters.
Or things just changed. Not unusual with that age demographic.Well this didn't age well![]()
Did something happen with Olsen?Well this didn't age well![]()
I think it had more to do with Humphrey announcing his commitment.Did something happen with Olsen?
I’m hearing that is exactly correctNot sure what didn’t age well. Besides he thought his son was leaning Griz. Said it was down to those two. Cats came in strong at the end and won him over.
I’ll go out on a limb and say Olson will be a Griz now that BK got a 4 year contract.
Any chance we could flip Humphrey now that BK got the contract extension? Not sure what didn’t age well. Besides he thought his son was leaning Griz. Said it was down to those two. Cats came in strong at the end and won him over.

Speaking of coaches, contracts and tenures, what are the odds that Vigen will be gone after this year? Got to be very high. I'm actually surprised he's still in Bozeman. Not sure what didn’t age well. My honest opinion is that it comes down to what's available. I also don't see him wanting to fuck over MSU in the middle of another run, so a school like Oregon State that wants him to leave early isn't gonna sway him.Speaking of coaches, contracts and tenures, what are the odds that Vigen will be gone after this year? This is my thought. Theres still a long time till signing day.Any chance we could flip Humphrey now that BK got the contract extension?
Especially if Vigen were to get another job elsewhere...This is my thought. Theres still a long time till signing day.
Unless he’s thrown 3-4mil from a school with a good program, he won’t leave until his son has completed 3 years as the starting qb….and he’s a redshirt freshman this year behind Lamson. Why does it feel like we are we staking our fortunes on Vigen leaving the Cats?
Wishful thinking on my part at least. The Cats are beatable though. The Griz just have to figure out how to get it done. Why does it feel like we are we staking our fortunes on Vigen leaving the Cats?
Nice to see you back here, Vim. Appreciate all the work you put into this.Fully expect Olson to announce to the Griz at least before the 4th of July...if not today. After Walker, you dive into mostly developmental prospects in-state. Rusch Yeager has gotten recruited hard by both schools but I think patience will be needed with him to develop as a legitimate FCS WR. Other in-state kids to note that I consider partial scholarship players:
A few PWOs who are worth a flyer:
- Tytan Sebestyen - Father Rey starred for the Cats on the DL during the Kramer years. Great kid and player and wouldn't be surprised if a big senior year gets him an offer. If Cats offer, he'll go there.
- Cooper Michaud - Frenchtown product built like Rusch. Good basketball player. Will need more speed to convince me he's a FCS WR...maybe a developmental TE?
- Hunter Daniels - Has a Griz offer and Cats have been interested. He's a rock solid TE/H-back type. I'd pick him up...he has the make-up of a good college football player/student.
- Isaiah Greer - So this one has been snuck up on some folks but Isaiah has only really played basketball and ran track for Lockwood. His football development has been hindered due to bad knee injuries but he's healthy now and really impressed at camps. He'd be a blue-chipper if he had football tape available. I mean the kid is 6'4", 220 and runs around 11.00 in the 100M. Cats offered in May and Griz offered in June so the recruitment is now starting to pick up. He could play a lot of spots but I'm assuming LB or Edge.
- Banyon Johnson - Developmental QB out of Columbia Falls. Take a flyer and you have a kid with a great build and good arm in a high school system that runs a ton of college passing schemes.
- Hudson Casper - Flathead product who would likely turn into an interior DL. There has been some interest from the Griz but no offer yet. If Griz offer, he'll commit immediately.
- Logan Strecker - The #2 OL in-state, Logan is one of the better center prospects I've seen out of Montana since I started doing this. Could also excel at guard...maybe at DT. Cats have offered...not sure why the Griz haven't as he had a great camp at both spots. I have a feeling Logan will turn into a 3-year starter at center somewhere.
- Kane McQuiston - Hope Cats or the Griz give him a shot. He finds the ball really well and has good build for the position. He's a tier below Lane Humphrey as a LB recruit but I still think Kane can play at the FCS level. Actually kind of surprised BK hasn't shot him at least a PWO...maybe he has as a lot of kids don't post PWO from the Cats or Griz.
- Kashus Ereaux - Circle product you could give a shot at RB or LB.
- Tyson Scheel - Bozeman Gallatin RB who is arguably the best one in the state along with Kashus.
- Luke Jenkins - Bozeman Gallatin OL/DL who can absolutely compete.
- Landon Bahmiller - CMR TE/DE who has great length with a good frame to add weight.
- Ty Laslovich - Bozeman Gallatin S who comes from a strong Griz family...why not toss him an offer?
- Jaxon Zagata - Billings Skyview QB who I think is a decent safety waiting to be developed.
Anything on Luke Dalen QB from Whitefish? seems Eastern Washington has been on him quite a bit.Fully expect Olson to announce to the Griz at least before the 4th of July...if not today.
