2026 cats Regular Season Predictions

I agree……many will be just as good but what made them tough this past year was the depth piece. Can their third stringers step in and be just as good as the second stringers was last year for them?
If it’s been happening for the past few years, then why not?

I don’t really want to come here and glowingly talk about the Bobcats, but I think we can all see and realize that they’re recruiting and developing at a high level. I very much expect last years backups to be able to play at a high level. It’s what every good program does, UM included. I don’t see people here posting ad nauseam about how you’ll replace Wortham, or Loud, or Lawler. Why should you expect different for MSU?

There’s no doubt there won’t be any drop off for last years backups moving into starting roles this season….my point was, can their backups this year be at the same level as last years backups were? The depth element is a big part of what made them so effective last year. I don’t think they were as good as SDSU or NDSU were last year but they stayed healthy when the other two didn’t and that was largely in part to their cupcake schedule after week 2 and the depth that had in being able to rotate guys in.

With losing so few players and being able to replace most, if not all of them, the Cats will be at the top. They will be at the top yet beatable.

I know what you meant, and my point remains.

Cats were beatable last year. Yet, they found a way to win. Team chemistry and some good breaks helped them. Reminds me of the very good Griz teams. Won some games they could have easily lost. Good teams do that. Cats will have their hands full with the Griz. Probably not many teams going to be as good as the Montana teams this year. Injuries could be a big factor. Going to be a good year for both fan bases.

August 29 @ Utah Tech - W. The August heat in St. George is no joke. Bobs fill up on dirty sodas and come out sluggish in front of the sister wives, but pull away in the 4th.

September 5 vs. Butler - W. Huh?

September 12 @ Nevada - L. Mercy loss to Choach if the Bobs have any class whatsoever.

September 19 vs. Central Connecticut State - W. The fuck is this?

September 26 vs. Northern Arizona - L. Ty Pennington remodels the Bob secondary as Fisty picks up a tight one.

October 2 @ Idaho - L. Fuck ass Bobs blow their second straight dome game in heartbreaking fashion on a controversial pass interference no call.

October 10 BYE - Coach or player scandal or coach/player scandal. Press absolutely buries it, so we won’t hear about it. (doesn’t count toward playoff consideration).

October 17 @ Eastern Washington - W. Eastern, you used to be somebody. Pick it up, for God and Conference.

October 24 vs. Weber State - W. Weebs comes out like silly nannies in the first half, can’t recover. BobQB gets food poisoning but doesn’t come out of the game, the nation calls it gross, Bobfans call it gutty. They love that shit.

October 31 vs. Cal Poly - W. For realz, playa?

November 7 @ Idaho State - L. Terror Dome Tour continues. Total snake bitten game for the Bobs. They lose on a last second, non-reviewable fifth down play. Holties rejoice.

November 14 @ Northern Colorado - W. Entire starting offense skips the second half to stop by the train museum and engage in weird ‘rasslin’ in a local’s basement.

November 21 vs. Montana. L. Griz will be firing on all cylinders. Whenever that has happened, and I mean ever, the Bobs can’t keep up.

I see a 7-5 team that succumbs to the pressure of expectations following its first ever FCS championship, and I calls em how I sees em.

I think the cats are far and away the best team in the conference. They are better than they were last year at least on paper. However they are probably not going to win on the road in all three games of UI, ISU and EWU. I also think they will most likely lose to UNR. I do think it's likely they beat the griz in Bozeman next Nov in a close one. 10-2 and still a top two seed is likely.

They are going to piss pound UNR, ISU, UI and EWU.

Nevada might fire Choate after that game.

The only game I see them even getting a scare in at all is potentially the Brawl if our team figures it out and we make strides on defense.

I will wager whatever you want to put up that they don't win all three of those games, UNR, ISU, UI and EWU. I will also wager that they beat the griz in Bozeman. Just let me know how much you're willing to lose on either one of those predictions.

I don't care enough to bet money with someone I've never met (and likely will never meet) on the internet lol

Also, you listed four games there, genius.

Are you saying the road makes that much difference? Not trying to be argumentative. Playing in domes is annoying for sure. ISU and Idaho’s students will be making some noise. EWU’s program is on life support. I expect them to be horrid. I don’t see the Cats losing any of those games. I also don’t think the BSC is very strong this year. If I was going to bet on any team outside of the Griz beating the Cats - it would be ISU. They may be able to pull a rabbit out of their hat, but historically they pee down their leg and lose games when it matters.

Everything rides on Lamson staying healthy all season which I don't see happening unfortunately. He's a physical player and refuses to slide.....think he's gonna take a bad hit and be out. Knock on wood.
