I am talking college sports, but football makes the world go around.
I don’t disagree with the Missoula aspect, but if they coveted the market they would have taken Sac State this year wouldn’t they have? I think they do covet a piece of the California market which is why bringing an academic institution like Davis along slowly makes a ton of sense.

Why take a headache like Sac St when you get the same thing from Davis? Davis is a more stable option.
Market size matters. Until it doesn't because no one watches.
This was the failed Foolerton Experiment with Portland and Denver. Had half a million people in those markets watched, it might have been a sound decision. Same thing with Sac.
Problem is, not even 30,000 watched, and advertisers quickly took notice. Because the only thing they care about is viewership. Which is why Montana is greatly positioned for a move to the FBS. They have a long and proven track record of eyes on games.

Haslam’s salary at UM is $240,000, NAU AD was making a little less than that and DRF is making $1,000,000. It’s obvious the job that has a team that went to the Final 4 is better than the other 2. I’m not sure that NAU would be an upgrade over UM. Their football facilities are a downgrade in comparison to UM’s.
Are you trying to imply Haslam interviewed for the NAU job? That would be a downgrade from UM.

DRF almost pushed Tommy Lloyd away after reaching the Final 4 he was ready to go to North Carolina which would be why she is probably leaving. I haven’t heard of Kent Haslam causing any UM coaches to leave due to being difficult to work with. Do you know of any?
