From what I’ve seen the majority of the bets were actually placed when he was a college freshman aged 18.
I think the ones one his own team were early on. But I think just this year he sent 5k to someone to bet for him.

He bet 65 of $90,000 after 12/25/2023. Not when he was 18. Bet $5,000 while at TT

This is what I care about for professional football. I want to win. The Cardinals have been horrible outside of one season for a decade. What’s the worst that can happen by taking a chance on giving this kid a second chance?

I like winning, but winning with no semblance of integrity or by breaking rules or cheating is not for me. Teams that do that deserve to lose and have problems. I have no respect for them. I lost a lot of respect for MSU by
how they handled their coach DUI’s and their lies about the situations. I believe in principles and like honest and honorable people. Even in sport.
My former law partner Fritz Mondale told me how he tried to live his life based on principles. He told me that Hubie had taught him that. Mondale’s comments had an impact on my life, as they came at a time when it wasn't as clear how to make decisions and guide my life. I was raised with principles, but after school there wasn’t as much guidance and not as many mentors in my life. Mondale was a great guy. I truly enjoyed and respected him. I was around him for more than brief periods about a dozen times. He mentored our partner Amy Klobucher too. He didn’t mentor me, but he was always good to me. Loved the guy.

I just don't think the kid should have a lifetime ban when he wasn't even in the NFL yet. Even Paul Hornung and Alex Karras who ended up in Hall of Fame were suspended for one year for gambling. There are multiple players that have been suspended by the NFL for multiple games or even a season over the last few years. Yet the NFL has embraced gambling and has partnerships with multiple gambling sites. The kid screwed up and it appears that he has acknowledged his issues and taken steps to correct it. I think NEVER allowing Sorsby into the NFL is not proportional punishment. NCAA ban was appropriate because he was playing in the NCAA.

Who has suggested a lifetime ban? I haven’t even said to ban him from NFL. But he will
bring negative attention to any team
that takes him. Look what was happening to TT. I assume he will continue to bet sooner than later. I don’t believe for a second that he has addressed his problem. Ask your son about the growing betting epidemic of young guys.
Oh there is a growing issue for sure. And the NFL runs ads every game. I don't think any of us know anything about this kid. The NFL has allowed many other players to come back from a lot bigger mistakes than this kid (Michael Vick, Ray Lewis) and get their lives right. He hasn’t even gone to the NFL. Come back from what? He hasn’t had any PENALTY from the NFL. Give him a penalty before allowing him to “come back”, is my view.
It would inconsistent to the penalty given to Bouette from the Patriots. He without a doubt will be "coming back" from a pretty humilating experience. Should he be admired for it now? No. Should he in a few years if he stays out of trouble and is an example to other young guys caught up in it. Yes. I was 100% against allowing Vick back in the NFL but the way he has handled himself since then proved me wrong.

Bouette bet on only 17 football games. The NFL allows betting on other sports, I believe.
