Griz Soccer 2026

Question to the group and to those have the on campus pull, can the school put more logos the soccer field such as the Big Sky Logo or Up With Montana or even just Griz on the field a few times.

I've been curious regarding Megan Sofield's years of eligibility after playing one year at Arizona State then transferring to Grand Canyon. The Griz roster has been updated showing Megan Sofield will be a redshirt sophomore wearing #10.

Yeah, she did not play in 2025 and doesn't appear to have been on the ASU roster last season. She transferred to GCU in Dec of 2025, so was just there for the spring season which obviously didn't not last long at all before jumping in the portal again. Not clear to me why the gap but assume we'll find out when the write up the transfers - maybe?
Very young, unproven roster. Optimistic they'll be competitive, like the pick ups and think there are some quality, diamonds-in-the-rough here (Lewis, Sofield, Hampton...) But basically everyone will need to swing above their weight class from previous years (not just these three) and we need to not have a rash of ACL's again. We'll also need freshmen to come in able to compete at the college level physically - it's a bigger adjustment many people think, especially freshmen parents. We have not really had to rely on freshmen recently and it often takes freshmen at least a year to acclimate to college soccer, but we won't have time for that. Let's see if Mrs Gore's son can coach them up. J will only have a few weeks to coach up the goalies. Will be rooting like hell for these girls, especially those that have weathered these last few months, and that they can use that all as fuel to do some damage as the dark horse of the league. (The other wild card I think is whether any of these GK'ers can win us a shootout.)

Hey if yall care about soccer and its staff please reach out to the UM Presidents office and CC the AD. The new soccer asst coach doesn’t have an office when she arrives next month, the powers that be gave up her office so that they could make room for another basketball coach (they have like 9 coaches)!!

Also yes they can paint the field but there is not enough facilities staff to do it constantly during the season. If this was a D2/D3/NAIA school then the coaches would usually do it

Great way to make a first impression.

I'm not meaning to come off looking like an asshole or anything, but it this really that big of a deal? It's not like we're cutting scholarships or eliminating sports in their totality. There's plenty of coaches in the Athletic Department (including Football) that have to share offices. Is it ideal? Probably not but it's not the end of the world. Plus let's not act like there aren't currently plans to do a massive South Campus renovation for new locker rooms and additional space that they could likely use as offices. The sooner we raise that money then the sooner they can get shovels in the dirt and these little minute complaints go away.

There's a lot of reasons one could call for a change at AD (and most of those are fair criticism) but I personally don't think this is that big of an issue.
