Onto our next preview! This time we move on to Idaho who has a top 5 strength of schedule. Year 2of Thomas Ford and Joshua Wood. Will it be better than last year? Let's dive in!

August 28 @ Cal Poly - L. The first game of the College Football season on Friday night on ESPN. I predicted Cal Poly a few weeks ago and I'll stick with it. Close game though.

September 3 @ Utah - L. Quick turnaround as this is a Thursday night game in SLC. The game will be broadcasted on ESPNU. Morgan Scalley finally takes over at Utah and this should be a blood bath.

September 12 vs. Lamar - W. An FCS Playoff opponent from last year. You get 9 days to prepare for this one. I think this could be a close game but with a couple extra days off and it being the home opener, I'm gonna go with the Vandys.

September 19 vs. Abilene Christian - W. Another FCS Playoff team from last year. I think ACU is gonna have a pretty good team this year. IDK why but I'm gonna believe in Idaho in this one. I feel like they gotta pull an upset somewhere so why not here? Vandy's win a close one at home.

September 26 BYE. Perfect spot to have it! You'll see why next!

October 2 vs. Montana State - L. Friday night on ESPN with the defending champs coming to the Kibbie Dome! The cats are gonna be on a short week playing on Friday after coming off another late night game against NAU on 9/26. Idaho meanwhile has a week off to prepare for this game, get guys healthy, and potentially dial up some stuff. I don't think Idaho is gonna win this game, but given all these factors I think it will be close. They may have a chance at the end but I'm gonna go with the cats in a close one.

October 10 @ Weber State - W. I don't have high expectations for Weber this year. Vandy's win comfortably on the road!

October 17 @ Montana - L. Second straight year that Idaho comes to Wa-Griz. They could have upwards of 3-4 losses by the time they get to Missoula. It has the potential to be an important game for both teams but I wouldn't be surprised to see Idaho run out of gas by the time they get to this game.

October 24 vs. Southern Utah - W. Gotta get this game at home if they wanna stay alive for the playoffs.

October 31 @ Portland State - W. A nice easy win with a chance to unleash some frustrations.

November 7 vs, Eastern Washington - W. Another game you gotta get at home. Could be close but I think Idaho prevails at home.

November 14 vs. UC Davis - L. I could see this game going either way but realistically Davis is the better team and they should win this. Close game but Davis prevails.

November 21 @ Idaho State - L. Very likely a win and in game for both teams. It has a chance to be a very intense game. I like ISU at home though. I think Jordan Cooke is a better QB than Joshua Wood, and I think Cooke has more weapons around him.

I've got Idaho going 6-6 and missing the playoffs again. It's a tough schedule with all the big dogs on it, but I also don't have a lot of faith in Thomas Ford. I think he's in over his head. That's my prediction. Thoughts???

Idaho doesn't lose their first two games, maybe one of them.

Watch out for that October 2 game being an upset. Short week at the Kibbie Dome where the Bobcats haven’t played their best. That game is the most likely chance for the Cats to lose an FCS game before the Cat/Griz.
If this were a Jason Eck Idaho team then I absolutely think the cats would be on upset alert. I'm just not a Thomas Ford believer though. That said, Idaho does have every advantage in the world in this game. They get two weeks to prepare for it, the cats have a short week that involves traveling, the cats have back to back weeks of late night games, and they get to play at home in what is sure to be a raucous Kibbie Dome crowd on national TV. The Kibbie Dome can be tough to play in when it gets loud and rocking like that. I remember in 23 when the Griz beat Idaho down there it was one hell of an environment. Like I said, I think it will be a good game but I'd be surprised if the cats lost.

Brent Vigen’s press conferences also come off that he always thinks the opponent is good and the Cats are on upset alert which makes it unlikely they overlook anyone including Idaho.
