Griz Soccer 2026

Say a state that the December was 80 percent freshman with little to no playing time. Wonder what the ratio is for the May Portal.

Both EWU and ISU lost starters to the portal and ISU lost several players during spring season due to injuries.
Both are not very good pick ups in my opinion. But then again the transfer portal seems to only profit the power 4 schools.

No concerns here. Montana has 23 solid players with what appears to be a full roster next year with the 2027 commits. It may be a little tight now, and the roster may be younger, but it also looks skilled and committed. Across the Big Sky, there has not been rally any major key-player movement, in or out except for graduates, with Montana being one of the more key player "in" active programs, in my opinion. The transfers Montana added this and last transfer round appear to be players who needed the right opportunity, and have the ability contribute based on past play, rather than just low-minute, filler players moving from one program to another.

I trust Coach Gore and Coach J have the roster plan figured out. We will see what happens, but I expect Montana will get what it needs to stay at the top of the Big Sky. Let's see how post ages.

I love the positivity, and I hope you are 100% correct. But I will admit that I do have concerns. I’d like to see at least a couple more players added that have experienced at least a year of college soccer under their belts.

Mainly because the college soccer season is a grind. Bodies wear down and small, nagging injuries may worsen without rest. A couple pulled hamstrings or ankle sprains and you can’t run full side scrimmages- which is something this young team will need.

Also, some “low minute, filler players” from P4 programs have transferred and become significant contributors for the Griz:
-Mia Parkhurst had 49 total minutes in two seasons at Georgia- and became a regular starter at left back here.
-Chloe Seelhoff had 377 minutes over two seasons at UW — and we know the impact she had on the Griz when she got to Missoula

Just saying that sometimes the stats don’t reflect the player’s potential, just a poor fit at previous school.

calm down everyone. I know we have signed:
*P4 forward
*a keeper that Stu has known for a long time
*a Sun Belt starting center back (nothing to do with Troy)

There is a few more in the works, press release will get done once the portal is complete. Also very underwhelming picks up from the other schools in the conference.

For now just exercise a little patience.

Well said, you could also grad Designated Student Athletes that don't count against your roster cap.

Patience and fan message boards usually do not mix well but you seem like a voice of reason so I will do my best😁.
