Griz Soccer 2026

Kylie Briscoe is a defender who played 156 minutes as a freshman at Oklahoma and played 270 minutes as a sophomore at Colorado State. Looking for some playing time.
Honest question: is three schools in three years no longer a red flag?

not judging- just curious? Seems common for football/basketball but I’ve seen a lot of soccer players in the portal with two schools under their belt already.

Have to agree with WAGrizFan -- probably looking for playing time. Who knows what was promised to her vs. reality. That being said, I also agree that it's a bit of a red flag. It takes two to tango. Hard to say; hard to know.

True. Every situation is different.

Former Griz/current Coug CB Makena Smith has 4 schools in 4 years on her resume. (Purdue>Miami (Ohio)>Montana>WSU).

I dont know if it’s a red flag as much as it is a notch in coaches belt to pick up a former P4 player? Chris always liked those early accolades in a players bio and sometimes (imo) prioritized that over on field performance- i.e. Taija Anderson.
just my two cents.

I think it is, at both previous schools didn’t get any playing time and goes to WSU who already have the defense set. Probably back in the portal in December.

Honest question did Griz verbally committ to many 2027 with only having 2 seniors limits how many transfers. Would you rather have a mix to include incoming juniors from portal to help this year.

Good question. And what if a senior wants to get a fifth year on the NCAA new 5 years to play five?

There is generally some attrition on a team, and do the Griz have any current or incoming players with designated status (DSA)?

I'm thinking Coach Gore knows what he is doing, and we will learn as it unfolds.

True. Old guy's guess: Many football and basketball players are transferring for NIL cash. Soccer players are transferring for playing time.
Playing time is a big factor but you’re seeing more soccer players being repped by Proven Sports Management and are seeing NIL/revenue share. Some high level schools are offering between 10-50k for players this portal cycle. Even Boise State has nil for certain soccer players there getting free car leases on broncos.

She transferred to Samford, not Wofford, which is a really good soccer program and has a really good coach in Todd Yelton. RPI was 47th last year. Typically win their SoCon conference but unfortunately always draw Florida State in the first round due to NCAA geography restrictions for the first round.
Thanks that’s make a huge difference probably read the post wrong

5 verbals under Gore and 2 under Cito from Montreal Canada. Are the two under cito see being honored.
I count 6 -- not counting Elizabeth Proulx & Abby Lagrandeur

Class of 2027 Verbal Commitments:
Vega Arancibia - Portland Thorns Academy (OR) - MF/OB
Alyssa Maniar - Internationals SC ECNL (OH) - Forward
Kaylie Rai - Burlington (Ontario, Canada) - Goalkeeper
Isabella Sanabria-Cora - LAFC SoCal ECNL (CA) - Forward/MF

Side note: Has anyone noticed that, unlike Cito, Coach Stu is bringing in ethnically diverse players? I personally love it!
