Griz Soccer 2026

For those who care, WSU forward cut/went in the portal and has already signed with Gonzaga.

Ole Miss had seven players enter the portal so far (1 GK, 4 D & 1 MF, 1F)

NAU Defender is only second BSC portal entry I’ve seen.

0 current Griz in the portal 👍🏼
She played 4 minutes last year. Rumor was Chris was going to cut to get more experienced forwards this portal cycle.

No Griz in the portal is a good.

I'm only saying there's turnover year to year and part of that can be kids that just decide to quit - passing no judgment. Nothing about their soccer ability - just a choice they make, happens almost every year. But main point is there is turn over, injuries, changes of circumstances. I must be bored so here's the last 5-6 recruiting class and the number of SEI's and number of players that left the program and the reason I would fill roster for this fall season (or at least not intentionally hold spots for future seasons):

Griz incoming Classes
2025 Class - 8 recruits: 1 ACL, 3 transferred
2024 Class - 8 recruits: 3 ACL, 6 transferred
2023 Class - 7 recruits: 1 ACL, 6 transferred or quit soccer
2022 Class - 8 recruits: 3 ACL, 2 transferred or quit soccer
2021 Class - 9 recruits: 2 ACL, 2 transferred or quit soccer
2020 Class - 7 recruits: all 7 transferred or quit soccer
Is all the ACL tears a result of improper training and conditioning, or just shit luck?

recent studies have shown overuse and improper strength training
This. Treating women’s soccer players like male FB players doesn’t work well. There are some possible hormonal connections as well that is (finally) being researched. ACL prevention exercises and training has made some strides. These obviously are geared toward the non contact types. Trauma injuries are on the shit luck bus. There are a host of other factors though, hip angles, general conditioning, strength distribution. That said, my 13 year old is starting ACL training this summer. She will do it weekly until she is done playing.

This is just a small sample of what they are doing in research.

Lifting weights with a strength and conditioning coach is not enough anymore, they need specific/targeted training and recovery exercises

Interesting that WSU has already removed a couple players from their roster - Studer and Skinner. Don't let the door hit you on the way out! Also just noticed that they only posted the score for the spring game they won.
Jenna Studer has transferred from WSU to join Shulenberger at Ole Miss.

The AT assigned to Soccer has her CSCS and incorporates it into the players recovery but the Strength coach doesn’t seem to grasp the concept that female athletes and male athletes are built differently. He’s also a man child, was screaming at one of the soccer players the other day (so unprofessional). Heard this issue along with others in athletics have already been reported to the new President.
