Trump's Sport Executive Order

Whether you agree with a government attempt to intervene with athletics, or whether you disagree, it's still the government doing the intervening. The answer should be F**K no. You will never get them out. Title IX much?

Missoula is not the town I knew as an undergrad. The hippies of the day stayed, procreated more and more, others came and turned the town to shit. Makes me want to vomit.

When was the last time you came to Missoula? I grew up nearby, and then attended in fall of 2005. Walking around downtown and on campus, there is maybe 5-10% of the hippy culture that was here back then. Missoula has gentrified quite a bit over the last 20 years, and quite honestly is nicer downtown than I can ever remember. As someone who has lived here off and on for 20 years, I think you are really missing the mark.

Me too. Missoula is a great town and has been on top of its game for several decades.

It really has. The food is better than ever. Old places that were abandoned and/or unusable are being renovated and upgraded. 1889 and Plaza Azteca are genuinely two of the best places to eat I have found in the state.

Walking around brewfests and First Fridays and events in Caras park I sometimes find myself shocked at how few "hippies" I even see anymore. When I first got here there were white people dreadlocks everywhere.

Missoula is nice for people not trying to build a career locally but the wages are low compared to the cost of living. It has been that way for decades. There are more high paying jobs now but still very few compared to larger cities and the cost of living has gone up a lot since Covid.

October 2014, just passing through. Football games 2004-2010. Actually lived there 1992-1993. Football team had some kid named Dickenson who made a splash.
Come back and check it out sometime. From the sound of your original post, you will be happy with the changes. ;)

I have lived in Missoula since 1983. There are very few places in the world I would rather live. I admit it is pricey, but we all make choices.
