student viewpoint on president hiring process

I didn’t care who the president (US or UM) was when I was in college. Accordingly, nobody else should.

Also, we had lead paint chipping off the walls all over our house. Mother used to sprinkle it on our breakfast cereal, and I turned out just height-pocket9400, the clown has no penis. Paducah!

Accordingly, you didn't and they don't. Let's not pretend the students are deeply engaged in this process.

I have 3 kids in college right now - I asked them if they know who their U president is...one of 3 knew the name. None of them knew priorities/ vision etc. None of them care.

Complaint from the Kommiean in OP is a large nothing burger - it's a complaint looking for a complainant.

"I have virtues, yes I do! I have virtues how bout you?" Student suffrage matters!

from what i heard of the shinn public forum, i dunno. it was kind of a big yawn, with lots of the same stuff being said 10 years ago by academia administrators repackaged as forward looking. his ideas don't seem bad or anything, but i personally didn't find them new or inspiring. admittedly, years of being jaded by university administrator yada yada bullsh... have left me jaded, so take my opinion with a large grain of salt.

Good report argh!

Students pack the joint to show their outrage at the lack of transparency and throttling of their rights to know everything about the UM Presidency? I bet it was mob-like.

Send pics when you get a chance. Hoping to see some eGrizzers marching with the completely engaged student body. I can hear the chants:

"Virtues, virtues...we got em, how bout you?"

"Hey, hey, ho, ho, tell us everything - we deserve to know!"

"Ho, ho, hey, hey - get used to us, we're GEN A."

Good times.

Amen! With you, me, and your three, we’re up to a sample size of five. That’s good enough for me. But I don’t think this goes far enough. Not only do no students care, we should therefore actively prevent them from having any input whatsoever, no matter how inconsequential. Remember, every 18-22 year old is a mere child and should not be given standing as any sort of stakeholder in this or any other university matter. To me, Faber was a better place before they allowed the whole “Student Court” thing. Stop allowing the children a voice in adult matters, I say.

Whiner?

Nope - just spittin facts.

Why bring service to the Nation into the conversation? Wierd.

Now, how bout those pics?
all i wanna know is whether wierd is gonna be added to the egriz lexicon? or is it too close a call between 'wierd' and 'wired'?

Now we’re giving them their own Q&A sessions? That’s bullshit. Children should be neither seen nor heard.
Don’t you know THEY’VE BEEN LEFT IN THE DARK AND HAVE HAD NO VOICE THROUGH THIS WHOLE PROCESS???!!!!111!!

rabble rabble rabble.

Well...many, if not all of the students today, will be around a lot longer than most of us and can carry on the tradition of chastising the young' uns for thinking they have a voice. BTW, I picked up on the dripping sarcasm.
