MBBALL Money ➡️ Transfer Portal

Normally I’d be really upset to see a kid like Money leave, but with everything he’s been through and the way he has persevered through it all, he’s earned this opportunity. He got to go to March Madness, he joined the 1,000 point club in just 3 years, he’s been fiercely loyal to Griz Basketball and has set an example for how to carry yourself in this new era of college sports.

On behalf of Griz Nation, thank you Money for an amazing 3 years! It was a lot of fun watching you play, and I’m glad that we could be there for you during some of the darkest moments of your life! Go get that bag! 🫡

I hope someone hands him a bag with millons in it. Kid deserves every penny.
 
Don’t get me wrong, I would’ve loved to have Money back next year, but now we have an opportunity to kind of hit the reset button (like a lot of Griz teams and UM are doing right now). I didn’t like the way we ran the offense this season and I felt like it held us back at times. Now we got a chance to bring in completely new faces with different skill sets, and I think this will be good for the program! Obviously don’t wanna lose anyone else to the portal, especially not Thompson or Aguino. Revamp the backcourt and the front court and let’s see what we can do next year!
 
I’m glad he’s going to get paid, but disappointed that if he makes it to the league he won’t be saying
“Money Williams, The University of Montana” in pre-game intros.
 
ASU hired St. Mary’s coach strengthening the Bay Area connection. That could be a good fit. It is hard to say what ASU will be stylistically as they will be a full reset from this past season.

They are also hiring the HC at Cal Baptist to become the assistant coach, ASU has the money to reload and become good overnight.

With how many players already announced there going into portal there’s no excuse not being able to reload for next season.

Atleast previously ASU had around a median Big 12 basketball budget. While that may seem to be plenty of money, it is an issue when the neighbors 2 hours down the road have more than double ASU’s basketball budget with one of the largest in the country. The neighbors might also be heading straight toward either school’s first football or basketball title in over a quarter century Monday night which would further exasperate the gap ASU basketball has with the Cats.
