LadyGriz Nate Harris Cuts

Selvig is the GOAT.

In some ways it is a bit of an unfair standard to have any coach compared to him there, and I think Schweyen did buckle under that stress.

Don't agree, with all due respect, and yes, I am biased because Shannon is from Billings.
It took Shannon a while to find her sea legs and her team suffered some bad injuries right out of the gate, but her final year, her team had a winning W-L and I think would have continued to improve.

Robin Selvig had a lot of faith in her, and that's good enough for me. !!! To state the obvious, it's all water under the bridge at this point.

To that sentiment I agree. I don't think that Robin would have entrusted her with that position without having some sense of her ability to hold the position.

I know from personal experience that head coaching is NOT all its cracked up to be. There is a soul crushing amount of detail and stress to the job, and I couldn't handle the first or the second time that I ran high school programs. If I had the opportunity to run programs at the high school level again, I'd do it differently. A LOT differently. At the high school level you might get another chance, that isn't always the case at the college level. Shannon likely won't get that opportunity again. If she got the chance to reprise her position, she would tell you there would be a million things she'd do differently.

Some people, like Robin, somehow are naturals in the position and it looks so easy. It wasn't ever likely that easy, but he made it look easy. He didn't master it on day one and had the ability to work on his craft over 30+ years.

Yep, bias. Once again blind loyalty.

I was told that Selvig recommended Trish Duce to replace him, not SS.

This is all old, Yes, Selvig was a very good coach, elevated Griz program, few bad hires and not so great recruiting compared to BSC teams and program is now trying to right itself. Have 10 players going into next season. This is Nate Harris defining comment, he now has revenue sharing to lure better players, let’s see who’s he able to get.

Bergan Kinnebrew currently in town. Lots of interest from other schools. The six that are staying must believe in Nate and the team. I heard from an AAU coach that Waddington has lots of interest due to versatility. Let’s hope she can be developed a little more. Missoula is the place to be. Let’s go LG!

Ok, so lots of talk here pertaining to LG recruits/Interests/suggestions. Another EGriz thread covers this information: Lady Griz Recruiting Central. I noted some of the aforementioned names of individuals are not mentioned. The list on Recruiting Central has those who have already signed on.

Kinnebrew committed to UNLV

You don't set up a visit unless your both interested. Two things probably happened, 1. UNLV offered more money/NIL and 2. UNLV sold her on facilities and have a better chance winning the WMC, Montana didn't win many games and half the team is the portal.
Thanks Captain Obvious. Are you related to 5280?

Gianna Kneepkens was a big contributor for UCLA, as a grad transfer, this past season on their run to the national title. She played for Utah for four years before transferring to UCLA her final year. She went to the same high school as Chloe Johnson, who is a sophomore at Duluth Marshall, and played for the same AAU program, Minnesota Fury. Hopefully, the Griz can recruit Chloe Johnson and convince her to take a visit to Montana.
