Quincy King Commits

The BK effect! Either King wasn't getting the same love from Hauck - or he was just keeping it close to the vest? It seemed for the last few months King was tagging MSU coaches and sharing stuff from them quite a bit and Montana wasn't really reciprocating the love. Then just 3 1/2 weeks after BK is the head coach - King is a Griz.

And a further sign that Montana's in state recruiting strategy has changed - the cat excuses! Many cat fans were very fast to roll in with the excuses, he's a local kid, he always wanted to be a Griz, it's our back yard, blah blah blah. Yet ignoring that Dolan, Crews, Jones, Ortt, and probably a handful of others were in that same / similar category (yes I understand the Crews situation is different).

This doesn't mean the tides have turned, and maybe its just 1 lucky addition - but it also could be a sign of more good things ahead, which I hope it is!

They didn't want him anyhow, Brint.

After all the complaining about not getting local commits this better reach 37 pages.
Ever notice positive posts get just a few comments but bitching and moaning reaches hundreds of posts.

Yes I know this was posted din the recruiting section, I'm just pointing out this should be top of page thread after all the gnashing of teeth.

#eGriz

The dysfunctional family you choose.

If folks didn't catch it, there was a good NBC Montana article on him, too.

Quincy jogs up Mount Sentinel, then jogs back down, and then does sprints up it? He is a beast.

I also noticed he has or does compete in MMA. I can only imagine his hand fighting skills are top level which will help him on the D line.

Super pumped to have King commit. It seems he has the size, strength and attitude you want for a DL. Good job coaches in getting out there and making King feel like royalty. Keep it up!

I love that he’s a stud wrestler those dudes often times make the absolute best D lineman
Wrestlers are absolutely committed athletes. They have to be, watching their diet, practicing, weight room. They are mano a mano on the mat. No excuses, no where to hide. Dan Gable, famous wrestler and coach, was undefeated in high school and lost only one match in college. After that match, he is quoted as saying, '...then I got good.' One last Gable quote: "Once you've wrestled, everything else in life is easy."
