It helps keep the conf together.Maybe too much of a team player. What that gets us isn't always clear.
The internet is going wild saying I should order this headcover right this second:It's all fun and games till Shooter steals your yellow jacket. Then it's fu-king on!
I feel we're already being too much of a team player (hell we rotate a rival every few years to help other teams with attendance numbers) being selfish once in awhile isn't a bad thing. Considering us along with MSU and arguably Idaho are the Conference Flagships we should be throwing our weight around a bit more and doing our own thing, especially if it would financially benefit us more in the long run.Maybe too much of a team player. Honest question, what leverage does UM have to go against the BSC majority?I feel we're already being too much of a team player (hell we rotate a rival every few years to help other teams with attendance numbers) being selfish once in awhile isn't a bad thing. (ref. The Office). “That’s what she said…!”Nice guys finish last.
Off the top of my head branding, fan support and finances. The fact we literally rotate our 2nd rival every few years to help other Conference teams out kind of proves it, in addition we always get one of the few ESPN2 games the Conference gets a year which means we're seen as valuable to ESPN.Honest question, what leverage does UM have to go against the BSC majority?
Didn’t Engstrom throw his weight around and get USD in conference briefly? How did that work out?I feel we're already being too much of a team player (hell we rotate a rival every few years to help other teams with attendance numbers) being selfish once in awhile isn't a bad thing. The conference had until March 1 to find sponsors, the BSC was looking to have all the schools wear the same patches and split the revenue equally. Why would Haslam or anybody agree to this. The other schools are your competition. The PAC and MWC are not doing this.Didn’t Haslam say that UM is letting the conference lead on this? You need to pay more attention.

You better do what the internet says. When AI takes over, they wont forget. The internet is going wild saying I should order this headcover right this second:

I know you are setting this up for the, "We can't make a credible threat to leave" comeback, and I agree. But I don't think the BSC can "leave" us, either. To me, that equals leverage. We're going to sell our own jersey patches and keep the money. What are you going to do about it, BSC? Kick us out? Didn't think so. Fine us? Not paying. Sorry not sorry.Honest question, what leverage does UM have to go against the BSC majority?
None of those are leverage when trying to get more from the conference to the other schools. And the schedule rotation has more to do with the number of schools. You think a school will give up more of the everyday revenue for the extra revenue they might get every 2 or 3 years from a game against Montana? I know for a fact that the only possible leverage they could have is leaving the BSC and as we know, that ain't a thing.Off the top of my head branding, fan support and finances. The fact we literally rotate our 2nd rival every few years to help other Conference teams out kind of proves it, in addition we always get one of the few ESPN2 games the Conference gets a year which means we're seen as valuable to ESPN.
In the short run, I think they milk UM for everything they can because in the long run it really doesn't change anything.I know you are setting this up for the, "We can't make a credible threat to leave" comeback, and I agree. I know that's simplistic and extreme, but maybe a bit more of that mentality could help?
Why would a good soccer player ever make a pass? With soccer fans like you, no wonder the coach left. The conference had until March 1 to find sponsors, the BSC was looking to have all the schools wear the same patches and split the revenue equally. Why would Haslam or anybody agree to this. The other schools are your competition. The PAC and MWC are not doing this.
UM and MSU and maybe Idaho have the brand power, why let Idaho State, UNC, Weber, SUU get equal revenue off UM's branding.
Not so extreme.I know you are setting this up for the, "We can't make a credible threat to leave" comeback, and I agree. But I don't think the BSC can "leave" us, either. To me, that equals leverage. The Pride. It helps keep the conf together.
Does anyone - and I mean anyone - truly believe that sewing town pump patches on the Griz uniforms = move-up capable?
Really?
Some of you guys need to take a looooong walk and touch some grass.
Let me say it slowly - there are not enough patches in the world to generate the perpetual money required to move up.
