Robby Hauck to Illinois

I think Robby is a good coach, but the jump from PSU to Illinois is quite large. Good on him for gaining experience though!
He’d be an idiot to not get Big10 coaching experience. Nepo hire or not. Bobby is setting up Robby for success in his coaching career.

People dog on the kid all the time. Yes he was a shit talker and cocky as hell. Yes his playing time was definitely inflated as was some of his tackle numbers by daddy Hauck. Yes he had more trouble in pass coverage. But I have never seen a kid his size go down hill and hit so completely fearlessly. He deserved his all conference and All American accolades. That hit he put on the EWU receiver that was talking trash helped to change the tone of that second round game in 2021. Again in 22 against SEMO. If anyone deserves the hate for his griz career it’s Bobby for being dumb about certain things. Robby left it all out there.

His tackle numbers weren't inflated. He did fine in pass coverage.

Every leading tackler in the big sky the past decade has had their numbers inflated. Hauck was no different. I don't see why people criticize him about it when so many others have had inflated numbers.

But the coolest thing about the BSC is that you can have like 12 tackles on the year and get BSC DPOY over the literal Buck winner!!! Woo! 🥇 🏆

It's common in coaching....and EVERY OTHER FRIGGIN industry in America...for all those clutching their fake pearls.

1. Frank Beamer → Shane Beamer (Virginia Tech)
- Shane Beamer served on his father Frank’s staff as a graduate assistant and later as a full‑time assistant.
- One of the most prominent modern examples.

2. Bill Snyder → Sean Snyder (Kansas State)
- Sean Snyder served in multiple roles under his father Bill, including special teams coordinator and associate head coach.
- One of the longest‑running father–son staff pairings in FBS history.

3. Bobby Bowden → Jeff Bowden (Florida State)
- Jeff Bowden served as offensive coordinator under Bobby.

4. Lou Holtz → Skip Holtz (Notre Dame, South Carolina)
- Skip Holtz worked for his father Lou at both Notre Dame and South Carolina.

5. Hayden Fry → Jerry Fry (Iowa)
- Jerry Fry served on Hayden Fry’s staff during the early Iowa years.

6. LaVell Edwards → Jimmy Edwards (BYU)
- Jimmy Edwards worked in support and administrative roles under his father LaVell.

7. Sonny Dykes → Spike Dykes (Texas Tech)
- Sonny Dykes began his coaching career as a GA under his father Spike at Texas Tech.

8. Mike Bellotti → Andy Bellotti (Oregon)
- Andy Bellotti worked in support roles under his father Mike.

9. Jim Mora Sr. → Jim Mora Jr. (Washington)
- Jim Mora Jr. worked as a GA under his father early in his career.

10. Terry Bowden → Jeff Bowden (Samford)
- Jeff Bowden worked for his brother Terry, but also previously worked for father Bobby at FSU.
Yeah, but their name is not Hauck!

Jared Allen, Pro Football Hall of Fame; Kane Ioane, ?.
We are talking about college football. Do you know anything about the Big Sky Conference and its history? If you knew the bare minimum you would be more discerning with your posts. Kane Ioane was a 4 time college All American. Jared Allen was All American twice and all conference 3 times.

What nobody is mentioning...we now have a pipeline for drop downs from the Big 10 hahahaha

Kane Ioane > Jared Allen. 2003.

I’m combining years improperly. Tyrone Holmes won the Buck in 2015, but wasn’t good enough to win BSC DPOY, despite having better stats than the winner, Cowser from SUU.

In 2018, Dante Olson finished third(?) in Buck voting and had like a billion (maybe two billion) more tackles than the EWU player who won BSC DPOY, but Olson didn’t win actually the Buck until the next year.

^^ I think this is right.

Are we? I’m not. I’m talking about the difference between the two. BTW, who’s Kane Loane dipshit?
