If we have to depend on one of those three 265lb’ers at DT in any kind of a 4-man front we are cooked. IMHO.No, that's not what you said. I disproved what you said. And Suemalo played nose fairly well last season.

In 2008 and 2009, our heaviest DTs were 270-275 lbs, with guys like Waldhauser at 242 and Hobbs playing at 265.If we have to depend on one of those three 265lb’ers at DT in any kind of a 4-man front we are cooked. IMHO.

Landing another transfer or developing a guy we already have to a 280+ DT would certainly be awesome, but it's not mission critical like it would be in the 3-3-5, especially given the short timeline. They are looking for a couple more transfers that fit that bill, though.
That said, it should be a focus of the program going forward to develop our DTs to be consistently in the 280-300 range, which (and I really hate to bring this up again) is something the neighbors have done well over the last several seasons (developing guys like Brott and bringing in guys like Eckert).
The weights are from 2025 on GoGriz roster.Comparing 2009 to 2026 is a fool’s errand, IMHO. Different era…But 100% agree with your final paragraph. maybe even 110% agree.
I want Sanders to run the defense that is the right fit for our personnel. It’s all you talk about. It’s obvious to anyone following your posts that you want Sanders to run it.
Put em' on a 10Kcal diet per day, go heavy on cleans, DL's Squats, and a whole lot of flip sleds. They will bulk up. So odd fact about me, I am a Sumo wrestling fanatic. People look at them and think "oh those guys are just fat". Yeah... no. Yeah they are fat, no they are not weak. Those guys have brutal training routines. They have to eat 10K a day just to maintain their weight. They are insanely quick, ridiculously strong, and crazy agile. Micah Parsons trained with them a little in Japan, the squared up against a guy named Wakamotoharu. Now he isn't the best, he's good. Micah couldn't even move him. Not an inch. He hit him hard, didn't even move an inch. You think they can put on 40 pounds by September?

the point is it's not hard to put on weight, maintain your strength and agility while bulking up.
