Future Scheduling

I would much rather see the Griz play Montana NAIA TEAMS from Montana rather than the crap they bring in now. You did not read all the posts as unusual but I can understand as you view Egriz at work on someone else's dime so maybe don't have the time to read them all so just comment.
I don't work on anybody else's dime at all, but you're right that I have been egrizzing less and definitely haven't been reading every post. Just having some fun.

Teams that you think are garbage and don’t belong in the playoff can lead to big upsets and exciting games in the earlier rounds of the tournament. See Yale football in 2025. I thought they were a trash team that shouldn’t have gotten in and they go and beat the Walter Payton Award winner and give the eventual champs a scare in Bozeman.
That would be the only thing I would agree with. I don't think anyone other than Yale fans thought that game would be close.

I like the 24 team format with giving all conference champions a bid because it can lead to big upsets in the earlier rounds but the best teams are usually the ones that are left by the quarterfinals.

Haslam should call Shann Schiilinger out in Bismarck to see if he's interested in bring the UMARY Marauders out to Missoula, handful of of ex-griz players that coach out in Bismarck.. seems only natural..👍

If your goal in life is being a fuck...pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

What the F is going on in here? You guys want to schedule NAIA and D3 Teams? That's how you want to #RTD?

F that, I'd take the MW conference everyday of the week. We need to move up.

You're making too much sense so quit it..
Why not schedule as many soft as Charmaine teams at home as you can, run up as many yards ans scores against Central Washington and F×king Sacred heart ?

You get to play in the "Mecca of Fcs football" like that means shit too anybody anymore considering what's left behind against dogshit teams.. or challenge the football team and coaches and schedule real competition ..

D3 are much better schools and students get a much better education. And are closer to being set for life.
i looked this up and was a little surprised it was true. the reason for the surprise was that i don't really know much about which schools participate in either d3 or naia, other than some regional naia teams. thanks for finally teaching me something, greenie.

For some, yes. But not true for all D3.
Most, to my knowledge. How would you rate MIT, Univ of Chicago, Cal-Tech, Pomona, Amherst, Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, Connecticut College, Hamilton, Middlebury, Trinity, Tufts, Wesleyan, and William, Sewanee, Emory University, Washington and Lee University?

Typical Bubs fan... read the thread. Nobody is talking about seriously scheduling D2/D3/NAIA schools. The topic is about the diminishing competition in the FBS and FCS with all of the crappy smaller schools moving up to the FCS. Kick rocks pussy cat boy.

Those are the excellent D3 schools and I would include St. John's, Macalester, Carleton, Simpson College, and many others in the list.

I wouldn't put the schools in the WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) in the same echelon. The WIAC is D3 and has UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Stout, UW-Superior, and UW-Whitewater as member schools.

PLU and University of Puget Sound in Tacoma and Whitman in Walla Walla and Whitworth in Spokane are D3 and I don't think they are the same academic level as MIT, U of Chicago, Cal-Tech and the others.

For football, Whitewater is better than all of them. I know someone who was a multi time national champion their as a punter and his old college coach is now a head coach in the P4.

I'd like us to try and get a game vs a New PAC school every year, out of all the G6 Conferences they are playing the toughest schedules (most P4 schools and top G6 teams) and I think quality FCS teams would be right up their alley.

We are playing one this season. UM has typically only played one FBS game of any level every 4 years so the guys can experience one in their college careers while not sacrificing many home games. FBS teams won’t come to Missoula so scheduling them annually will mean sacrificing home games and the revenue that comes with them.

I remember reading we're making around 700k to play @ OSU, that's a good amount of money for increased exposure and the chance to start padding our Resume so we don't get left behind.

Each home game brings an estimated $5 million to the Missoula economy. Ticket sales alone bring around a million per home game to the athletic department.

Not trying to say we would make more money with an Away game, however I am saying we should be playing more FBS games for the sake of exposure. The Bison became well known across all levels of CFB primarily because they would routinely beat FBS, including P4 teams.
