BOTH Brawl Round 2!

Can we finally beat the cats? I don't mind losing to the cats once in a while, but between football and basketball, I have had enough loses to last for a long time! Travis, get this done please?

LG when on at home, please...that would be nice! Cats are a power house, so if we lose, make it a close one....bad deal if we it handed to use at home!!!

Really was looking forward to watching this game in person but after two days of F’n around on GrizTiz I am unable to buy tickets (“Something went wrong! Please try again”)

The only thing I didn’t try was buying the “ticket insurance” which I refuse to do. THREE $38 tix already running $114 with fees. I dont need to add another $11 / per to that, when the game is on TV anyway. Fix this Griz Tix - your killing the golden goose.

Had to turn off the LG game.
They're not even close to the level of the MSU lady's team. It's frustrating and embarrassing to see the talent and performance gap.

Got to be better. Looks like a not so good coaching hire.

Surprised to see the LG pass up shots at the basket to dish out to the 3 shooter. Mack especially.

Shall they try for the "I am Loren Dick and I'm from Missoula...." video a 3rd time?

The lady on the lookalike cam that they compared to Rachel McAdams was Taylee's mom.

They’re doing everything they can to keep people away!

The cats are definitely the better team this year. I liked that the LG hustled until the end. Rae Ehrman and Draya Wacker are players and if they can build around them and bring in the best in state talent along with the excellent out of state talent, then the LG will be a force for the future. I'm excited to see the talent they have coming in next year.

I arrived just under 11 minutes before the start of the game to watch the Lady Griz warm up. All they shot were 3 pointers. So it's no wonder when the game got started, they couldn't hit the shots inside the key at the start and that bad start in shooting spread into their 3 point shooting. Some of the players during the warm up seemed to be really hot hitting several in a row (Erhman, Konig, and Wacker especially)

Harris wants to rely on the 3 point shot and overall, the Lady Griz have way too many players who are not good at 3 point shooting. Konig, Waddington, and Erhman are the only ones that shoot the most consistently from 3 point line, and Waddington is slumping from there recently (ever since Konig came back).
All the remaining players not good at all. Aby Shubert shot well last year but not this year. Maybe next year she will shoot better.

When it comes to conference, Only Erhman is shooting well from the 3 point line. The rest have not shot well at all from the line.

So, if Harris wants to rely heavily on the 3 point shot, he needs to see a lot of players hit the portal so he can find some players that are better. It's like he is trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. It's not working.

He either needs to change the type of offense he wants to use, or let everyone except Waddington and Erhman go to the portal.

Right now who is returning, there will need to be some players on the team that will have to enter the portal or we will have to hope the 4 new players coming in to turn the Lady Griz into a force of the future.

I think Coach Harris needs to build more into the offense. There's a lot more ball screen and off ball screen action that can happen within the 5 out offense. It just seems that the LG are too stagnant for my liking at times. I'm really liking what Niko Medved is doing with the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the 5 out offense. Niko formerly coached at Colorado State. I really like the triple drag screen action that Niko Medved uses to set up 1v1 action.

Is the 5-out the new 3-3-5?
No, not even close. The Minnesota Gophers just beat #9 ranked Michigan State using the 5 out with a bunch of transfer portal guys.

I would also say more college teams are going to the 5 out motion offenses.

Looking through the lens of not having the personnel to run the scheme against top flight competition. And also a tongue in cheek salute to the never ending back and forth on the football forum. 😉
