Eastern has definitely been the definition of "bend don't break", especially back when they had their high-powered offense.

As long as we don't give up 3rd and 20s consistently and can cover receivers, I'll be happy.

107/126 for rushing defense and 105/126 for passing defense last season. I'm sorry but that doesn't instill confidence. I am prepared to be surprised but not setting my bar very high, I'm afraid.

What is funny to me is that the refrain on here for so long was that if the 3-3-5 was any good then it would be used at higher levels and win championships. The Seahawks were running an awful lot of 3-3-5 in the Super Bowl.

Or a coach that was 15-49 at UNLV. Eastern is in a tough spot financially and that impacts their recruiting especially with NIL. I was pretty impressed with adjustments he made in 2nd half vs Griz.

I’m just concerned about last years results. But you’re right, it could be that they’re great hires. Time will tell and we’ll see. As some have suggested, maybe their coaching and scheme will better shine with better athletes at UM

I like the hire. He did not have the best athletes to work with at EWU.
EWU seems to barely stay afloat as a football program.
What defense does he run?

Judging from their record, the Swiss cheese defense.

As the saying goes it is more about the jimmies and joe’s than the X’s and O’s. Montana can offer the jimmies and joes more than Eastern.
