Announced today that Boise State and Idaho will resume their rivalry game in 2031 after a 21-year gap of not playing each other.
If it's only going to be played one time after years and years of not playing each other, and it won't be an ongoing thing, is it even really a rivalry anymore?Announced today that Boise State and Idaho will resume their rivalry game in 2031 after a 21-year gap of not playing each other.
Yeah that's the question. Boise State's X account is saying "Rivalry Renewed". Not sure if it's going to be a recurring game moving forward, and if not, it's a "what's the point" type game in 2031.If it's only going to be played one time after years and years of not playing each other, and it won't be an ongoing thing, is it even really a rivalry anymore?
On ESPN the "Ocho".2031? They might be playing sarcastaball at that point
are they talking football, basketball, or all sports? if the two universities play in different football classifications, there might be rules for the higher division team that include not playing a lower division team. or maybe not, i dunno. i'm just curious if the announcement specifically mentioned football.Announced today that Boise State and Idaho will resume their rivalry game in 2031 after a 21-year gap of not playing each other.
Yeah sounds like a great deal for Boise State... I don't have all the info but I would assume BSU is paying Idaho for this game. I wonder how much. Better be an awful lot because they're going to get murdered.I was living in Idaho at the time Boise State made their move up, and their President, or AD at the time, flat assed stated they would never play Idaho again, they were a blot on the schedule, a party school, etc., etc. But, a lot of time has passed, new people at both schools. My guess is this is a one-timer, and the target will be a blowout of Idaho for all of Idaho to see. A humiliation. In other words, don't fuck with BSU and their supporters. There are almost a million people in the Treasure Valley nowadays.
