Solo and Jem granted another year

No offense to the solo kid, but move on to something else. Granting him another year continues to set the precedent that just resulted in our head coach retiring, unretiring, and then reducing himself to a dc. This is bad for college football. He is going to be 26 years old next season and from what i read in his 8th season, if you don’t see the issue in someone ,regardless of injury, getting to participate in two full college football careers then i don’t know what to tell you. What i can speak on personally is the impact this has on the confidence of young athletes entering college.

It is awesome! I think this is his 9th season. So would the incoming freshman been 4th or 5th graders when he graduated from high school?
It’s absurd that no one else thinks this is weird. In the early 2000s they made movies making fun of guys like that, ‘Van Wilder’ ring a bell.

I thought Hauck didn't like dealing with agents and requests for money or more money, and perhaps players transferring out. I doubt that he has any problems with the Solo situation. And USC probably dint' care that Solo departed.

I mean more int terms of the ‘nil’ era as a whole. By allowing things like this, we get further and further away from what college football is supposed to be about.

I think it's absurd too, but that's the way college football is now. I have better things to concern myself about, including big trips, than worrying about things like this.
You’re right, one of those things that i guess we can’t stop, so might as well just be happy we got a good player back.

In the early 2000s there was also someone named Jason White who came back for a 6th college football season after winning the Heisman Trophy which was very rare at the time. He did not miss an entire season due to injury but tore his ACL in each knee early on in the season 2 years in a row. Solo has missed 5 entire seasons due to injuries. Last season was the closest he has had to a full injury free season.

He didn't get to participate in even one college career, he's only been able to play 3 years.

That's exactly why he's getting another year lol

Fun fact!

Gillman and Solo are both seniors this year.

Solo started his career in 2018.
Gillman started his career in 2022.
