Hauck to Illinois

From what I could find Illinois already has the personnel to successfully run the 3-3-5 on their roster.

Hauck was yapping in his retirement speech how coaching in today's college football wasnt fun anymore, how he didn't enjoy going to the office anymore and roughly a week later takes this job at Illinois.. guys a piece of crap.
About head coaching and dealing with agents and NIL. Now that is all gone. Perfect fit for him. I wouldn’t expect a huge cats troll to understand. You weirdos have so much pent up anger and aggression for him what are you all going to do with it now? I hope your wives and kids run and hide

My understanding is that they wouldn't have had to pay UM anything.
From a news article.

Should Hauck leave UM for any reason other than "by reason of retirement, death, disability or incapacity," UM will receive as liquidated damages an "amount equal to Coach's Base Salary at the time of the termination, multiplied by the number of years remaining under this Contract and/or extension at the time of termination. In the case of partial years, the amount will be pro-rated by the number of months left in the partial year."

Man I really hope he doesn’t do what I think might happen for everyone’s sake. Fine he takes that job but it’s not going to be okay if he handles it a certain way.
Remember he said the Griz were "his program." It'll be interesting to see just how much he owns.

You do realize they received that either way with BH foregoing his final year salary.
