Not true. The many wins and successes. At the end of the day the legacy of Bobby Hauck 2.0 is simple: he got dominated by his rival. That’s what he will be remembered for.
The second thing he will be remembered for is that he could never win the big one.
Your hatred for Bobby has been known for a long time as as evidenced by your screen name. He's gone now. Maybe just give it a rest.At the end of the day the legacy of Bobby Hauck 2.0 is simple: he got dominated by his rival. That’s what he will be remembered for.
The second thing he will be remembered for is that he could never win the big one.
And you didn't even mention the 2019 team and season, which I feel was the team that accomplished the RTD goal, and set the stage for the next few years. Had the 2020 Covid disaster not happened, we may have seen his first National Championship with that crew. They brought back the winning culture with extreme accomplishments on the offensive side of the ball and a very aggressive defense at the first two levels. Dalton Sneed brought back swag at the QB position. Akem, Toure, and JLM were electric and torching defenses. Flowers was starting his kickoff return excellence, and Marcus Knight made us believe in the running game again with his complete dominance on third downs and red zone situations. Not to mention, Dante Olson accomplishing perhaps the best season ever for a Griz linebacker. The coming out party for Gubner as a freshman, and on and on. This was his second year of 2.0 and his best year (under the circumstances of a very tough schedule and overcoming the recent past), and most impressive team IMO.I get that this is a troll account, but, man... What a sad perspective.
Was Bobby's tenure perfect? Far from it. I had a lot of concerns about the way he represented my alma mater, and I regret some of the shortcomings that prevented him from winning the games you mentioned. But in my 20+ years of Griz fandom, all but one (2015 NDSU home opener–Joey Counts barreling into the south end zone of WA-Griz to upset the #1 Bison) of my favorite moments in Grizzly Football history occurred under his leadership:
While the losses to MSU and the shortcomings in the NC are certainly part of his legacy, they're far from the totality of his legacy. So go ahead, have your moment. But even those of us that recognized it was time to move on from his tenure are grateful for his dedication to the Montana Grizzlies and proud of the teams and players he produced.
- The Greatest Comeback in Grizzly History - Marc Mariani wills the Grizzlies to a 61-48 victory over the SDSU Jackrabbits after being down 48-21 in the 3rd.
- The 2009 App State Semifinal Game - The snow globe on ESPN. The stadium was cold (and loud), and the Griz defeated Armanti Edwards in his final game with App State.
- 2018 vs UNI - The Griz win 26-23 over the perennial sweethearts of the FCS playoffs. Was it anything special? Not necessarily. The Griz held on for a win in, and the atmosphere was electric.
- An Upset 100 Years in the Making - UM defeats the #20 Washington Huskies at Husky Stadium. Cam Humphrey, from Issaquah, Washington, stays cool under pressure and rushes in for a TD to go up 10-7 in the 4th. Marcus Welnel picks off the pass with 30 seconds to go to ice it.
- 2021 Cat-Griz - Junior Bergen strikes on the second play from scrimmage. He leaves Troy Andersen in the dust, and the rout was on.
- 2023 Cat-Griz - Big Cliff McDowell and the wide splits pave the way for one of the best Brawls I've seen in person. The stadium was physically shaking. The OL parted the seas and Nick Otsmo took it 64 yards to the house.
- 2023 Semifinal vs NDSU - This is the greatest game I have ever seen in person. Junior Bergen's 47 yard punt return, the double overtime pass by the former high school QB to seal the 2-point conversion. The failed 2-point conversion by NDSU. You can't write it up better than that.
POTY without challenge.I get that this is a troll account, but, man... What a sad perspective.

I will remember him as a man that could spell tuah correctly. At the end of the day the legacy of Bobby Hauck 2.0 is simple: he got dominated by his rival. That’s what he will be remembered for.
The second thing he will be remembered for is that he could never win the big one.
His four year record of 32-1 against BSC completion in 2006-2009 will never be equaled.Bobby clearly just wont win over a few guys but his legacy very well could outlive many of us. It will be very difficult for any future coach to surpass his win total for Montana and in the Big Sky.
His legacy to me, as others have posted, he's the 2nd best coach we've ever had just behind Don Read. I will remember him for building Montana into a dominant force in 1.0 and for getting Montana back to the brand of football we all expected in 2.0. Both times he improved the program from when he took over to when he finished. He was a fierce competitor and wildly entertaining at QB Club meetings and in practices. He had a burning hate for Bozeman and helped fuel the rivalry. Sadly it will stay with him his ending overall rivalry record and the fact that he went 0-4 in the natty too. However in regards to the natty, I think all but maybe 3 or 4 other programs in all of the FCS would love to even have 2 trips to the big game, let alone 4 - regardless the outcome. Bobby was/is a great coach that provided many of us some of the greatest games we've ever seen in Wa Griz, who coached some of the greatest players we've ever seen in Wa Griz. He oversaw the graduation of hundreds of student athletes and especially in 2.0 was an excellent steward of the program, even as the landscape of college football slowly moved beyond him.
Ya ya but by far his legacy is getting owned by the Cats, never winning the big one and being an all around A hole to the media.I get that this is a troll account, but, man... What a sad perspective.

No, his legacy will be the winningest Griz coach ever, multiple trips to the semis and to the NC. I admit, he could be a jerk, but he isn’t even in the same ball park as you! And, believe it or not, the losses to the Cats will fade, I promise.Ya ya but by far his legacy is getting owned by the Cats, never winning the big one and being an all around A hole to the media.
